Really dumb things you've done while pregnant

I had a huge pregnancy brain moment this morning. DH and I were at the gas station and he ran to the bathroom and asked me to pump the gas. I rarely pump gas for his truck, but I do KNOW that its a diesel. I put unleaded gasoline in the truck. sulkoff.gif Yep. I did. Its not pretty. The truck had to be towed and the gas tank is going to have to be drained (which means we lose the money from filling up the truck, plus having to pay someone to drain it and filling the truck back up with diesel.) DH is mad. He is afraid its ruined forever.

Please tell me things you have done when you were pregnant that are as bad or worse to make me feel better.

Oh - you poor one! How is the truck today? Still running? Husband NOT ruined for the rest of his life? orngbiggrin.gif

I know this confused-pregnancy-mind... - it´s HORRIBLE!

Last week I wanted to pick up my son from school. I went through the door downstairs ... everything quiet ... went upstairs to the room where his classroom is ... quiet ... and in the room: ONE child (my son) and two teachers playing with him.

I asked: "Where are the kids?" - and the answer: "you´re late - but don´t mind, it´s okay."

How do you explain that you REALLY thought that the time range were between 3.30pm - 4pm, when you picked up your child from September on EVERY DAY at 3pm - 3.30pm? Nobody would believe that you indeed are THAT confused.

So, I stayed quiet, took my son, appreciated for the care and left with an embarrassing feeling...

My daughter LOVES her cat- I mean, a LOT.  A few days ago I was giving it some dewormer because it has an affinity for catching and eating tiny animals.  I gave the cat 10 times the regular dose, and nearly killed it.  My husband was nice enough to lie about how the cat got sick, and even though she made it through I still feel terrible.

Thanks guys! The truck is running fine ($150.00 later....) and DH is better. He got really quiet when we went to the gas station the other day and pulled up next to the same pump (the pump HE pulled up to last time and then left me to pump the gas). The pump doesnt have a diesel option on it. He just looked at me and said, "well, I guess it would have helped you to remember if I had parked next to the diesel pump." He's okay. He now has a funny story to tell his friends about how everything is my fault.
On another note, I have also forgotten two appointments this time, written a check for 100.00 over the amount I meant to write (thankfully, it just got applied to our electric account, and dropped my phone in a pot of boiling water.

I forgot a conference call for work.  I can't say I blame it on the PG, though . . .had too many things to do that week.  The good news is, so did everyone else!

While pregnant with DS, I forgot my purse everywhere, pretty much every time we went out. We live 45 minutes outside town and had to drive back to get my purse more than once. I NEVER forget my purse anywhere normally! It got so bad that I finally assigned my purse to DH. I told him that since he was the one who always had to drive back and get it, that he was responsible for making sure it was with me when I left a store/restaurant/anywhere.

I stopped by a Chinese restaurant on our street and got one takeout dish. When I was walking home, I could not remember what it was. I had to tell my husband "I just got Chinese food but I don't know what it is."

Thank you for this thread!  I have horrible pg brain, and all your posts made me laugh out loud.  Yesterday I almost burned my house down...I put a pot of quinoa on the stove, then immediately went down to the basement to start packing for a move.  I only came up to pee, and thought "EEW, what is that damn neighbor cooking, it smells so gross"....it was my black mangled pot :(

With DS I parked my manual car without the parking break and when it rolled past me, I said to my friend why is that creepy person driving so slow?

I know you aren't supposed to run from a bear.  But I was a week overdue with no signs that this baby was ever coming out, and we were out for a walk.  My mil saw a bear and started running.  I hesitated for a second and then was like what the hell, maybe it will start labor...and I booked it back to the car.  Well, no labor, and I was extremely sore the next day lol.

That sounds like something I would do.  At least you realized it before the truck was driven.  And, it wasn't technically your fault since your DH didn't even park at a diesel pump.  ;)

I'm paranoid about doing that too!  Typically DD rides the bus home from school, but on Mon. and Wed. she has extra curricular activities and I have to pick her up.  I'm always paranoid I'm going to forget her.

ROFL!  My mom did that once...only she wasn't pregnant.  She parked her car in the pick up lane and came in to get us from daycare.  When we came out the car was GONE.  She was frantic, thinking someone stole it.  She called the police and everything.  A little later one of the other parents said he saw a Honda roll down the hill.  Sure enough.  There it was.  It had slipped out of gear, rolled across the driveway, hopped the curb, went down a steep hill, and crashed into a tree.  It was totaled, of course.  We still tease her about that.  20+ years later.  She's sort of notorious for doing air-headed things, but that was the worst!

As for me, nothing major yet.  Just forgetful, scatterbrained, etc.  Luckily I haven't done any real damage yet though.
