Should I tell mom to skip the poopocket pattern?

She made me one already and - though being her first diaper ever - neither of us were thrilled with the outcome. I've since realized that pattern is a one-size (big on newborns) and is for pins only and that the wings don't really wrap around to the front like I prefer.

She just bought some fleece and is talking about making an AIO now and was going to try to do it with the poopocket pattern.

Is this a good idea? She can sew, but she doesn't know all the diaper terms and keeps getting confused about whether she is sewing a fitted or a pocket or an AIO.

I think what I would prefer is just a fleece aio type diaper, front aplix closing. I was thinking of just buying a diaper that she could use as a pattern...

Bums me out we paid for that poopocket pattern.

How do I help her out?

I would try the side snapping poo pocket pattern -- I really like it & I made AIO's by just adding the waterproof layer, converting to an external flap style soaker. I also widened the crotch by an inch and excluded the gussets for a trimmer look.

I got the poopocket pattern as well, and made one. It will come in handy occasionally, so I'll probably make a few more. I'm going to use terry though, so I can snappi them. Just think how long they'll work for!
