I kind of can't believe this thread hasn't been started already. Some of us are around 10 or more weeks! Anyone ready to share photos? Oh how I love belly photos!

I'll share if you will!

Our camera crapped out right before Easter, so I only have weeks 4 thru 7 which don't really show much(except that I wasn't in the best shape before getting pregnant). We'll hopefully get a new one before 12 weeks since I tend to "pop" around then.

I'll go first, only so I can laugh at myself. I'm starting out this pregnancy not overweight at all, but I've been carrying quite a bit (for me) of extra fat around my tummy that wouldn't seem to go away, so now that the belly is starting to grow, it's pushing the fat out... making me look way more pregnant than I am. I am 10 weeks... 5 days right now I think. First pregnancy. This is what I looked like when I came home from work tonight  (Standing in the one-day babys room aww lol):

IMGP1229.JPG

For comparison, this was at 6.5 weeks. I haven't taken any in between, but I'll have to get a real 10/11 week one soon (ie that isn't taken at the end of a super bloated day)

jj, you are so cute and exactly what I imagined you look like!

I will post one later today. I am chubby and pregnant with my 5th baby in 7 years. My photos will look very different from yours, LOL. ;)

this was taken a few weeks ago, so around 7 weeks maybe? It's ridiculous. Yeah, I was overweight to begin with, and it is my third baby but really?! lol

Oh!  I love these!  I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who totally looks pregnant so early on!  My cousin was here the other day and she just kept commenting on my bump (which just looks like a big stomach) and how big it is for so early on.  Maybe one day when I actually shower, I'll take a picture of myself too.  :)

So cute everyone!!  I haven't taken any belly photos yet but I look very obviously pregnant already and glad to see a lot of others do too!  On the When are you Telling thread it seemed like so many people were waiting really long to tell and I was wondering how on earth everyone was going to hide it and now that I see some other bellies I am happy that I am not the only one who is going to have trouble hiding out.  I was starting to think I had seriously terrible abs or something.

My belly is OK in the morning and during the day, but it really pops out at night! I just bought some maternity clothes online, since I got rid of most everything after #2! I am practically out of everything to wear and in skirts and maxi dresses right now.

There's nothing to see here- sadly. I don't usually show significantly until about 8 months, so that's not a shock.  I'm still in my normal clothes and have no problems.  For comfort, I tend to lounge around in yoga pants and other comfy stuff at home anyway.

I keep hoping to live vicariously through those of you who actually show early enough to do photos along the way.  :)

Yes, just a fatty here! I am never wearing that shirt again. Look at those arms. My gosh.

This is me, today, at 11 weeks, 3 days. All pregnancy photos from here on out will be taken by my 7 year old. ;)

Please excuse the saggy boobies, LOL. I have some crazy rash and could only stand a night nursing bra today. And I went out in public like that.

I have provided milk for over 5 years to four babies, the girls are just gonna have to sag. :) LOL.

Yup.  I can olnly wear my maternity pants aside from stretchy jogging/yoga pants.  And this is a maternity shirt, but I still have a few non-maternity shirts that fit.  :)  ... and there is still a good jiggly layer on top of my belly - but now I can feel some firmness beneath the jiggliness.  :)

This was a particularly large morning-- 18.5 weeks. I'm enjoying how shiny my belly looks. lol

and 6.5 vs 18.5. Note the bra in the first photo is a supreme push up... the second is a microfibre sleep bra...

Also, you can just barely see where my belly button is on it's way to pop out. I told everyone I thought it would pop by 20 weeks and everyone laughed, but I think it's totally going to do it. In fairness, my belly button is very funny, and was an outie until I was almost in junior high, but it's been an innie since then!

Beautiful Ladies!! Thanks so much for sharing your photos. This is my second pregnancy and I didn't take photos for the first one either, but this time I am actually regretting it. I am overweight and I weigh about 15 pounds more to start this time (although I havent gained any weight this time around and last time I had gained 15 pounds by now, lol). I know I am huge and I am about 3 pant sizes larger than before pregnancy and of course one of my teens at church told me I look great and that my belly hasn't moved!!! UGH if only I had pictures to prove I was not this fat!!!

Long story short I am glad I have other girls to look at so I know I am not imagining my belly getting bigger. All of you look so beautifully pregnant.

*sigh*

I'm not going to be able to post here for months yet as I simply Do Not Show At All.  I'm not really complaining about that (much) because I still haven't told everyone yet but my gosh, it's amazing to see how everyone else is changing then go toss on my plain old boring jeans out of the dryer and find them looser than they were.

I guess that wide pelvis is good for something after all- it's plenty of room for baby to stay deeply snuggled in.

The rest of you are GORGEOUS. I have belly envy.

Oh, I love all the differences here! Amazing what the human body can do!

I will be 17 weeks tomorrow. And when my shirt isn't pulled tight, I mostly just look extra chubby.

I'm glad, though. I am not looking forward to the glares and questions I'm sure to get once I look very pregnant with 4 kids in tow. ;)

This is totally blurry. My 7 year old takes these. Hubby will be out of town until I am 38+ weeks! Yikes.

23 weeks!  I feel both tiny, and huge at the same time. Huge when I go to try to do things, or wear my old clothes, but then I think that there's an 11" long baby in there... and he/she is over halfway cooked, and the belly seems so impossibly small. To think that there are babies that have been born this far along, and lived, and I've seen photos-- it just doesn't match up when I look at my belly. lol I'm right on track with where I want to be weight-wise. 23 weeks, and I think I'm just teetering on 15lbs, so I should be good to gain a nice 1lb a week from here on out!

_IGP1683.JPG

And an artsy-fartsy one. Because my skin is so tight, I have a feeling the photos are going to get... less pretty, rather than more pretty as I go along. lol. I wanted one to show my belly button in all its popped out creepy looking glory, and you can see the linea nigra darkening already.

OK, mamas, do you think I look big? Be honest. This is my first -- I was pretty thin and in shape before I got pregnant, and this is all baby... my arms and legs are still the same size. My mom, who had 8, keeps telling me I'm big, there's no way I'm only having one or my dates are off, etc. What do you think?

And what is the deal with the non-round belly? I've always had a very defined waist, and there's still an indentation where my waistline should be. Weird.

lol! Not sure if I should be offended or amused...I'll go with amused ;) (One of my friends joked the other day, "Are you sure it's only one?" I'm sure!) He wears large or XL shirts...they just sorta hang there. This was the first shirt that actually defined my belly! I'm just glad I started looking *pregnant* and stopped looking *fat* ;)

I don't think you look *so* big. I mean, compare to my pic and BennyPai's comment ;) I'm 19 (almost 20) weeks...but I started out with a stomach. There's still sorta an indentation where my waist is too, but since the upper part of my belly sticks out more, so the shirt hides my waist, you can't really tell.

jesusfollower-- I don't think you look any bigger than I am. Then again- I'm getting comments every single freaking day now that people assume I must be ready to pop any day now-- people are ridiculous. I have a very round beach ball looking belly, but there's no WAY my belly could house a 7lb baby right now. People just don't think before they open their mouths.

I don't have a defined waist, but I can still see my hipbone indentations. I'm feeling calm as long as they stay! lol.

I was 24 weeks yesterday, I should get DH to take a new photo today-- and my new hair!

Jesusfollower, I don't think you look big either. No bigger than I am (my first too), and I also had the non-round belly for a long time. Now that my fundus has moved above my belly button, it's looking more round--especially after I eat! And your mother is probably just used to seeing the flat-tummied, non-pregnant you, so it's surprising to her. Don't worry! Your body is exactly the size it should be to make the baby it's making!

Ok ladies, (forgive the head cutoff, I was working with my webcam, there is a limited field of view. :P)

22 weeks, 5th pregnancy (expected to term)  fundal height = 32  Also, because I like to counter the belief that breastfeeding ALWAYS leads to terribly shrunken/saggy breasts.... I caved and wore a fitted tank top.

Now, I'm SOOO not 'skinny' to start with so there are lots of curves for baby to hide in.

Aww- thank you! I've only just learned to be ok with my body.  I was raised by a mom who was great about body image- but the rest of my family was very big on making everyone feel like your body is not ok unless you are a size two.  Obviously, that's NEVER going to be me, but I figure it works the way it's supposed to.

Here are mine, 22 weeks:

22 weeks shirt.jpg

22 weeks.jpg

I finally actually bought jeans. Oh my, how wonderful. I'm not constantly pulling them up!!

I don't think I've noticed it on any of you mamas, but my face is so chunky. Gosh, I hate that. I look like I've gained 50 pounds in the face. Yuck. Meanwhile, my arms and legs are the same (where I usually notice fat gain), and I've gained 15 pounds, so...maybe I'll think wishfully and say it's water retention? Does drinking more water help? Seriously do not like.

I LOVE the mama's eye view pic! That's so cute! It's so strange for me to look at what my belly looks like now vs. what it looked like when I was pregnant with DD. With DD, my belly went straight out and was almost perfectly round. This time around, my belly seems to be angled downward a little bit. I think it's because LO is always sitting so low, whereas DD was always pretty high up until the end. Speaking of which, I can feel my bladder getting kicked and poked as I type.

Oh- the bladder trampoline!  That is happening with me almost constantly this time.  I think that with subsequent pregnancies there's more room for them to bounce downward.  I know I've already been dealing with SPD for a few weeks and I haven't been able to sleep all night without having to get up to pee since before the pink line showed up. *sigh*

I think that since I am now at the Grand Multiparity point, my pelvis has been stretched enough that the baby is simply lower down most of the time.  It's not a bad thing, it's just different- like my body is so used to what will happen that it skipped over the 'early' stage to the 'late' stage.

I keep saying the baby is using my bladder for a punching bag! The bladder jabs are the only uncomfortable ones so far.

I'm around 22 weeks pregnant with a little girl. This is my first pregnancy. (:

22 weeks.

But I'm worried. My friends keep telling me my belly is small for being 22 weeks along. :/

AveryLamb - I guess I was picturing my own DP's t-shirts.  He wears a Medium and it won't cover my whole belly - and too snug for me; I tried wearing one to bed.  An XL wouldn't be uncomfortable.

This thread makes me feel so normal. I work with the public, and all I hear every day is comments about how I must be "almost ready" or how I'm so big, or they can't believe I've got three months left. Somebody today flat out asked me how much weight I'd gained. I go home every day feeling like my belly is twice the normal size. Then I come here and I feel normal again.

Isn't it funny? I had an outtie until I was about 15, and then it's been an innie, but it popped out again super fast, I think 21 weeks it was out already. Now it downright sticks out-- ie I've found myself rubbing it against the counter at work because it sticks out so far. That hurts!

Lovely bellies, Mamas :)

JenineJessica, I feel the same.  Just yesterday I was told by the lady at the gas station, "You look about ready to hatch!  When are you due?"  I had to tell her that I am 24 weeks - not until Christmas time.

It is great to see how much we all vary and also the similarities.  It really drives home the point that each pregnancy is unique, and that helps later when gestation time, etc. will inevitably vary as well (and still be normal).  winky.gif

If it's any consolation, I'm one of those 10-month kinda moms (barring intervention) but I have about 2 months of prodromal labor.  I'm sure someone out there will balance out my approach by delivering after a 2 hour labor at 37 weeks on the dot.  It all has to balance out somewhere. thumb.gif

Yep, it does get better.  After my daughter was born I *skipped* down the hospital halls because I felt human again.  She was born at 5 am, by 6:30 I was showered, dressed in real clothes, and when I went to the nursery for her checkup with the pediatrician, he asked who I was because I didn't look like someone who had a baby less than 2 hours before.  It was AMAZING.

After the boys, I didn't bounce back quite so fast, but within 12-24 hours I was up and active again.  I always look forward to labor- not only to bring  the baby into the world, but it feels like a rebirth of my true self- the woman who happily hikes up mountains, who likes to play on the floor with the kids, who- while not about to run marathons- certainly lives to be active and energetic.

Thanks for the reminder.  I feel like I'll never be my old self again.  I can't seem to do much of anything anymore these days.

Today my son was pretty sick and he wanted me to hold him.  I laid with him on the couch and was NOT comfortable at all.  I kept moving around to find a position that worked but we could barely fit on the couch together.  I felt so bad that I couldn't cuddle my own son and make him feel better.  :(

Azadehhast - great photo!  Though you're feeling worn  out, you seem to have great energy here.  :)

wendizbaby - grouphug.gif  I'm feeling that way much of the time, too. My body has been hurting.  The slightest shift in my hips while I'm seated and there is a popping sound.  DP heard it from across the room and couldn't believe it came from my hips.

I also feel guilty about doing less around the house and also for the change in energy for my girls.

You can see in this one how low she's carrying. It's nuts. On the upside, she's not even close to banging up against my ribs yet, which is nice. On the downside... it means I have very few pairs of pants that fit comfortably, because she's just in the way!

I went to the chiropractor on Monday and the very first thing he said to me was, "Wow, you're carrying really high! Like, higher than last week when I saw you!" Here's my 28 week and 24 week shot for comparison(we've been lazy with the pictures lately):

So, I was looking at my belly in the mirror today and it looks like baby has moved back down! I'm okay with that though, because I was starting to get really short of breath sometimes and having baby up in my ribs wasn't very comfortable. I couldn't sit down for long periods of time before getting really uncomfortable. I'm okay with him chilling out down below :)

Ugh, looking in the mirror is so disgusting these days. Even my nose is chubby! I'm SO ready for December and baby to arrive, so I can work on getting small again. Being pregnant is very bad for my self-image: instead of feeling motherly and cute, I just feel like a slimy, fat slug.

Still, hooray! I've made it to 30 weeks, there is still a baby kicking around in there, and health-wise, everything is great. 8-12 weeks to go (and hoping for the 8!)

Anyway, 30 weeks:

Personally, pregnancy has probably been better than I expected for my self-esteem...now I have an *excuse* to be on the chunky side. Plus, my round belly amuses me. :D

I HATE gaining weight while pregnant and I will support you every step of the way as you work to lose the baby weight. I have been shopping for clothes to wear post partum and my 8 year old, while watching me squeeze into stuff in the dressing room said, "that is going to be WAY too small".

It WILL come off and you will feel beautiful again. I just know it!

And you do look lovely now. Hugs!

In the December DDC social group I think we should have a weight-loss thread for afterwards. I'm going to be there!! I needed to lose weight *before* getting pregnant. Being pregnant just helps me to not obsess over it.

I think I will look at doing the C25K program starting in March/April depending on how I'm feeling.

I worry less about how I look than how I feel in my body.  I know I will need to build strength.  I haven't run in about 10 years, but I know that if I could get to a place where I was doing a 5k run 4-5 times a week that would be enough conditioning to make me feel a little better.  I'm simply not willing to commit more time than that while the kids are small. I am actually toying with investing in a treadmill or something similar this spring so I can't have any excuses.

On another note, how long does social group approval take?

Social group approval takes only as long as BennyPai or I seeing it, making sure you're due in December (though we may also include mothers of older children later, to give advice and stuff), and adding you. :)

I lost a lot of weight before getting pregnant this time, and I have felt great about my body image the whole time! It usually takes me a good 4-6 months to feel like myself again after having a baby though. I'll join the weight loss thread!

I think that's a great idea.  I've only really felt restricted in the last 2 or 3 weeks in terms of what my body is allowing me to do even though I started cutting back a while ago.  I'm looking forward to running and feeling light on my feet.  To being able to do a full spinal twist.  To lay on my stomach!  To lay on my back!  So many things we'll be able to do!

Azadehast, I think we have really similar bumps.  I really hate putting my picture on the internet, but maybe I'll put one up for a few days to help you feel not-alone.

I swing wildly back and forth between loving my body and hating it.  Mostly these days I love it.  I won't mind it going back to normal, but knowing it's temporary ... I feel beautiful.  I feel prettier naked than with maternity clothes on though.  They make me feel like a sack of potatoes.  :)

I'm definitely in on the weight loss thread, too!  I mostly feel alright about my belly.  I don't love the stretch marks, but I can deal.

What has been bothering me this time around is that my belly seems to be sagging a bit at the bottom, hanging down over my (TMI --my apologies) underwear a little.  Obviously I'm lacking in abdominal support.  And the weight gain in my upper arms.  Aargh!  Thank goodness for the cooler weather on the way.  I've enjoyed every opportunity to wrap up in a long sweater!

BTW, Azadehhast, FWIW:  I think you look great!

I am in for C25K. I actually got a "floor model" treadmill a month ago for $200. The normal price is $375!

I used it TWICE, then suddenly started feeling REALLY pregnant and it has been sitting there ever since.

I will be using it a few months post baby, no doubt, especially once my hubby leaves for months of Army training next year.

My goal weight is 160. I am 190 today. Yikes!

Maybe we can start that weight loss thread soonish. ;) Post inspiring stories, work out ideas, "goals", reward ideas, etc.

Just lately I'm really beginning to feel pretty uncomfortable in my own body in terms of exercise/movement.  I am attributing it (in part) to having caught a bug from DD, but I'm also just beginning to get that beached whale feeling.  For the past two nights my hips have been KILLING me at night.

Grrr.

I know  DH will be around some so I could go exercise then, but his work takes him away a lot and it's all sorts of weird hours, so the treadmill (for me) would be a way to make sure I am able to exercise while the kids are occupied or sleeping. Darnit, I WILL make my own health a priority this time around.

LOL! Totally agree. My DH insists I'm sexier than I've ever been (and he's not just saying it to make me feel better, if his actions are any indication winky.gif), but I'm not feeling it! And lingerie? Just makes me feel silly for the most part. I mean, look, I'm a preggo mama with a huge belly. I'm not some hot chick, OK? So why try to look like one?

I love looking at all the tummies! I must have popped over Thanksgiving, because this week everyone at school seems to be commenting on mine. I don't feel sexy, but I like how I look. Regarding married-couple time... I'm thinking ahead to that long six week+ stretch after the baby is born and banking as much of that as I can! (as if it works that way.... don't correct me, la la la I can't hear you!)

My DH thinks I look amazing when I'm pregnant too. He loves my pregnant body, but I do too. I've never felt more sexy than I do when I'm pregnant. I think it's because I'm not an extremely feminine person and pregnancy is the epitome of femininity and I really get into that part of it. My maternity clothes are a lot more "girly" than my regular clothes and I usually get stuff that really shows off my belly and my boobs. I love watching my body change. I also like how my clothes fit better. I usually have a pancake butt and long, chicken legs but I have big boobs(34DD) so it's really hard to find things the fit me well when I'm not pregnant. When I get pregnant, I grow a butt and my legs thicken so my body doesn't look as out of proportion as it does when I'm not pregnant. I've been wanting to get pregnant again since I had DD so I was SO excited when we finally decided it was time to try for #2. DH said at the beginning of this pregnancy that he didn't want anymore but he accidentally let it slip that he's already thinking about #3 :) I was so happy to hear that because I just don't feel like this is my last pregnancy.

Married couple time...harumph. Can I have some of that please? We've dtd 7 times since I've been pregnant, and not for any lack of me wanting it. I definitely don't feel sexy, and some things have to change, for sure, but we could at least try! But DH, wonderful man that he is, is definitely not interested. He says he thinks it's a biological thing, that he knows he's already been affective at making a baby, so he doesn't need to keep trying right now. Sure makes a woman feel good.....

Yeah, that six week post-baby dry period feels quite short to me. Maybe it'll change after the baby comes. Ugh. Now I'm going to cry, how silly.

"If I feel like married couple time, it must be good for the baby. If I don't burn off some of these excess hormones, the baby could come out with... oh I don't know... a beard or something!" he might be worried about hurting the baby or something, so you just have to make it so NOT having married couple time is the thing to worry about ;) And it makes it a biological thing, so it might seem logical to him (but it's complete BS, incase you were starting to worry)

Married couple time... uhh- I've kind of enjoyed not having to worry about it. redface.gif

Since my last child was born, my interest has been nil.  I would be fine with it MAYBE once every couple months, but DH is interested much more frequently.  I know that it won't improve for a year or so post-baby (breastfeeding = absolutely no interest on my part) but I assume DH will survive somehow... maybe he  can take up jogging.

As for a six week dry spell?  I don't know  many couples who actually make it all through the six weeks.

I am the partner who gets frustrated with a lack of "couple time" in my marriage.  DP doesn't seem to have any frustration at all when we have a "dry spell."   It worried me when we were 19 & 21 years old and once a month was so very far off from ALL of the other couples we knew. Now that we've lived together 12 years, I know it reflects more on his personality than our relationship.

I've noticed DP has a much stronger drive when I'm pregnant, and since we've had children.  It's an adventure to "sneak around" together.    Our normal pattern has become 2-3 weeks of a "dry spell" followed by an unusually active period.  Hmm... maybe he's just become in-tune with my ovulation cycle ...lol.gif  We have no trouble with the 6 weeks post-partum period.  That is the one time I'm not interested, and DP is as content as he's always been.shrug.gif

I hate to admit this.... but we have not had "couple time" since I conceived.  Bolt.gif

It's horrible, I know.  But for the first 23(ish) weeks, I felt like puking all the time and so that was the last thing I wanted.  Then, it seemed like once I started feeling like I wouldn't puke, my back and hips really started hurting.  In all honesty, I think my issues stem from me having a really hard time being a mother and being sexual.  Having the baby IN my tummy makes it very hard for me to feel sexual.  This comes from mom issues when I was little (I won't get into that).  Also, I really do not feel attractive or sexy.  I sometimes feel cute, but so much "stuff" seems to be going on down there and I can't even see it!!  :)  I just don't want to be touched right now.  Tonight, dh and I are having date night.  We probably won't do "it", but we'll definitely get some touching in along with some good conversation so that we can reconnect.

Ditto some of these other complaints. Poor DH was hoping I'd be one of those pregnant women who get a massively amped-up sex drive (I'm normally middling-to-low on the libido scale), but no such luck. I'm uncomfortable, I'm just tired, I don't want to be touched, I can't find a position that works, I can't see to maintain myself properly anymore which doesn't help my insecurity regarding my sex appeal =P ...and on and on and on. Trying to maintain that aspect of our relationship but struggling a lot. =/

Same here.  To be honest I haven't had any desire.  It makes me sad that my dh hasn't made overtures either but then I think that it is probably for the best as I really don't want to any way.

OK, since it has come up.... DH has been out of town since June!!

We visited him once and the sex was awesome, but only because we had not been together for 3 months. My goodness, I cannot believe it had been that long.

When the kids and I got home, I could not stop thinking about it and crying about how much I missed the physical part of our marriage.

He gets a pass to leave the base next weekend and I am going to go touch him and be touched by him for 36 hours. I'm glad I will only be 30 weeks because I imagine I will get A LOT more uncomfortable as we move into November and December... We'll see how it goes, LOL!

I know there will be several months of dry spell coming. I am going to enjoy next weekend. ;)

You know what nymama, when you posted this photo, I thought to myself, "She looks so pretty!" I love the way you did your hair, your pretty smile and your simple outfit. I think our figures are VERY similar and I know that my bootie and legs are bigger than yours are. I cropped them out of my photo, as you can see. ;) I think you are so beautiful! And I'm sorry I didn't post my thoughts sooner, but I have looked at this photo of you more often than photos of any of the other mamas. I also think you and I have a similar body shape/look to Bennypal. ;)

This one was taken last week (31 weeks) - we didn't get the pics off the camera until then, the difference made me laugh out loud!! xD

OKAY, this is absolutely amazing!

You look awesome! And if my hair looked like that without brushing, then I would never brush.

I can't believe you have two sweet babes squeezed in there. You look fabulous, mama!

Keep up the good work, you must be exhausted.

Ok, so you've all heard those stories of women whose families never know- and no one can figure out why?  This pregnancy has taught me why.

Picture 90.jpg

Yep, that bump is it. and I'm at the point in my pregnancy where I generally start to look smaller as things move further down into my pelvis.

On the upside, my jeans still fit?

you made my day, thanks!

And I'm sorry I didn't post my thoughts sooner, but I have looked at this photo of you more often than photos of any of the other mamas. I also think you and I have a similar body shape/look to Bennypal. ;)

Thanks for the complement. I am really struggling with my size and am so excited to get him out and to start to recover!

Wow...that is seriously crazy!  You have a tiny little waist!  So this has never happened before to you or is your body like this every pregnancy?

Oh, you're all looking so pretty, I just want to HUG everyone. Wouldn't that be funny, all the tummies knocking together? :)

Here I am at 32 weeks. DH and I are so disappointed with our photo-taking, though, because they just aren't a good representation of what the belly looks like. Note the shadow, though, which is seriously impressive!

Oh, also, see those bulges on the sides of my belly? I've always seen mamas with round, basketball bellies, but that's actually uterus bulging out at the sides. Anyone else have this?

The shadow is awesome and you look beautiful! This outfit will be great for post baby! Slimming (I know you'll like that, LOL) and will hide leaks well. ;)

Azadehhast: I've got the side bulges too. I've actually felt kicks and bumps over there many times. With DD, I had the round, basketball belly you mentioned but with this one, it's like everything just shot straight out. I just have those nice little bulges on the side instead of the roundness. You're not alone!

My belly is round as long as I'm standing, but if I lean back on the couch or lie down, I get the big bulges at the side too-- but you're right, I can tell it's not fat, it's actually the way the baby/uterus are sitting at the moment. It's funny, because you think of the uterus as being such a tough, strong thing, and I mean it is... but it's also so moldable!

Love the professional shots!  You all look so great!!

I had a crazy weekend, so I just shot a picture of me in my sweats (I usually try to dress up a bit at least).  My motivation for most things is dwindling these days (like picking that sock up off the floor before I took the picture...ha!)

Very swollen here from a 12 hour trip to visit hubby. He LOLed at me because my boobs are still so tiny. They are usually much bigger by this time during pregnancy. SO thankful I got to go, we had a wonderful weekend, just the two of us and the belly, of course. 31 weeks.

You two are so cute!   What a happy couple.  So nice to get a weekend away before the birth.  That is a great idea.

I'm going to put a couple up temporarily in a Shape of A Mother public service kind of way. :)  I've had horrible polyhydramnios ( I developed this in a previous pregnancy, but it's considerably worse this time...) and have been pretty much completely restricted from being up and about until some of the fluid was drained off (holy big needle!!!)  While it's better, I'm still far more restricted than I am happy with. I am supposed to be lying down with my feet up most of the time,  which is a huge struggle for me as I don't like to sit still.

Though I am not a stranger to stretch marks since I'm a pale and pasty kind of person to begin with, I have to admit that those that developed over the last couple weeks were surprising even for me. They are quite wide and the integrity of the skin is questionable.  I feel like I'm about to enact a scene from Alien.

I am still able to fit in pre-pregnancy jeans etc as the bulk of my uterus/baby/fluid etc is situated high up in my abdomen at this point.

Picture 94.jpgPicture 97.jpg

I kind of like the second pic where you can see how baby drifted to mostly transverse today when the fluid was drained.

My three year old watched me step out of a shower and excitedly pointed at my tummy saying, "Zebra!!"  He's lucky he's cute.

At 31 weeks, at one of my bi-weekly non-stress tests with my mother.

She was getting really bored and decided to snap a picture of me. So I thought I'd post.

Thank you for the comments on my photo, ladies. ;) My hubby is so handsome....

Insidevoice, my stretch marks are terrible. I'll do a bare belly photo next time and share them.

I'm still amazed that you are in prepregnancy jeans. I CANNOT wait to fit into mine again, someday....

dsb-- I love it! It looks gorgeous!

Anybody know of a good template to do a belly progression? I'm sure there's got to be one out there where you can pretty much just drag and drop the photos!

Bit of a backlog here, I don't remember what I've posted already...

haha just think though- at least those that look pregnant from the back don't have strangers starting at them wondering why they are horrifically waddling down the street! I literally see realization dawn on peoples faces when I turn around and it all clicks. I feel like a new duckling learning how to walk...
