Dukoral

Thread Starter

I am not a vaxer, and I wouldnt give it to my DD, BUT my DD is super healthy. I am going to Mexico for a week and my GI prescribed me Dukoral. Its an oral vaccine for travellers diarrhea. I have crohn's disease and its not quite under control, but I would say I am 90% there. Anyone have any experience with this vaccine. My GI also tried to push the Hep A vax, but since I am leaving in 3 weeks I doubt I will build up any antibodies in time.

I plan on taking lots of probiotics, and following proper hygiene, but people still come down with the trots on vacation.

I have just learned about Bach and Patterson homeopathic bowel nosodes, and I thought they sounded very interesting. Neither I or anyone else in my family have bowel issues that would warrant them, but I would most definitely consider giving them a go if we did. They seem to be beneficial for crohns sufferers.

Homeopathic Bowel Nosodes

On Gaertner nosode from the above link:

Of great value for children or adults with food sensitivities and issues with sensitive digestion such as Chrone's [crohn's], colitis, IBS or lactose intolerance.

Also from the above link concerning vaccines from these bacteria:

Quote:
Initially, Bach [this is Edward Bach of Bach Flower Essences] created conventional vaccines from these cultures and administered them to patients. However, after reading The Organon while working at the London Homeopathic Hospital in 1919 as house pathologist and assistant bacteriologist, he was struck by the connection between conventional vaccine theory and the Homeopathic Law of Similars and sought to link the two disciplines.

It was then that he began administering the vaccines as potentised nosodes to his patients orally over a period of ten years gathered clinical data from 500 cases which he claimed demonstrated a 95% rate of improvement with their use.
