I'm soaking wet all night.

I'm still in the newborn stage, but as I recall, the wet nights lasted for quite some time with my ds and I want to get it under control earlier! I thought this time would be neater and dryer since I actually have a good nursing sleep bra (a pea in the pod yoga sleep bra) and a nursing sleep top. I put pads in the bra, but the problem seems to be the milk spilling from the outside, not the inside necessarily: as in baby lets it spill out of her mouth, and it runs all over the outside of my clothes. I stink and I'm really uncomfortable! Also, showers are pretty much only realistic at night. Is there help?

I slept topless with a big pad under us until the leaking slacked off. Also, getting up extra early for shows ended up working out better for me than night time showers. DS would sleep through nearly anything around 5:30-6am. Even though it was way earlier than I would normally get up at the time, it was one of the few times I could actually shower alone without risking DS waking and getting upset, and I felt a lot better getting up for an early morning shower to wash off the ick. Morning showers at my normal wake up time just weren't going to happen unless I took him in with me, which I did sometimes, but sometimes showering alone was a pretty nice luxury.

What would you do if it was too cold to sleep topless? I'm already blanketless on top because of the newborn...

I had a little cheapo space heater in our bedroom during the colder months. As long as I kept the door closed, it was enough to keep the room nice and toasty, and it didn't really do too much damage to the electric bill.

I used to stick a newborn-size prefold in my nursing cami. It worked great.

I'm nursing with a towel under us, and I wear a bathrobe on only 1 arm (the top arm) to keep my back warm like a cape.  That way I don't worry about covers and suffocation, but stay warm myself.  If I don't have the towel under us, we end up with a wet spot from DD being a sloppy eater.

I've been having the same problem, and wearing wool seems to be helping. I wear a thin wool sweater I picked up used, the babe wears a wool sweater and pants (also found used:-)   ) and I even have a small wool blanket I put under the sheet to protect the bed. Even though we both still get wet at least we're warm now.
