Hey ladies! I just thought I'd start a thread to find out how you other mammas are planning on staying active throughout your pregnancies. I have insulin resistance issues and struggle with depression when I am not exercising, so I strongly think it's in the baby's best interest for me to keep working out at a moderate level throughout my pregnancy.
Anyway, I usually do cardio kickboxing and zumba when I'm not preggo. Now that I am , I've still been going to classes but have been wearing a heart rate monitor and modifying the moves a TON. I'm trying to keep my heart rate below 150, which is difficult, but not impossible. I just can't move fast! lol I feel I wind up marching in place a lot. Oh well!
Do you all have any plans for fitness throughout your pregnancy? If so, I'm all ears for recommendations! For at home fitness I recommend the "Walk Away The Pounds" DVDs - they are at a moderate pace and I don't have trouble keeping my heart rate down, but it still is pretty good exercise. I'd love to know what you guys are liking, too!
