HELP! (NEW HERE) Requesting Pediatricians near Nassau County, NY

Hello fellow mothers,

I am a recent father of our first newborn baby that was conceived one month ago. I was raised with the understanding that there is a broad understanding of vaccinations, and after reading some books about this subject, I have found my way onto this forum. I am requesting help as our current Pediatric has refused to care for our newborn if we express our concerns about alternatives to vaccinations.

Are there any members here that are aware of any reliable, honest, trustworthy, and knowledgeable pediatricians who support our point-of-view in regards to (no) vaccinations? I am looking for pediatricians that are well-known, and are close by to home (Valley Stream, NY [Nassau County])

I will be checking this forum in great detail everyday hoping to find what I am looking for. Please send me PM's if you have additional information, or use suggestions to my inquiry. I am a father concerned for his cute little munchkin's health. :)

Thanks.

Hi,

Was in a similar boat recently but could not find anyone in Nassau - we use Dr. Tomei in Huntington and she seems great!

Good luck, I know how hard it is to find doctors that support no vaccinations!

I would recommend our doc- Dr. Valerie Mokides in New Hyde Park. She is a DO and she is not opposed to non-vaxing. She will explain to you all the risks that in her view you are taking, but she will not pressure you or right upfront confront you. We are at 9 months and we have been delaying.

However, research whooping cough, there have been about 200 cases in LI and I would make sure I am familiar with this disease and ways to prevent it without vaccination (staying away from coughing or sick people, etc...).

From where you live, you just hop on Grand Central for a few exits and you are there. If you have a car, she will be convenient for you. I live in Whitestone (northern part) and I drive to her. There is always parking. I was going to go to Manhattan, but I am glad I did not- for me it would have been so stressful to deal with crowds and parking while taking my newborn to the ped.

Valerie is all about nutrition generally. However, if she thinks there is a danger present, she won't hesitate to prescribe medicine.

Please feel free to IM me if you would like to ask me more questions about Valerie.

Good luck!
