Hello from NY

Hey mothers and fathers,

We are a couple of a newborn baby that is 1 month old. We are here to search for other parents who also support the right to refuse to vaccinate our children. We were turned down and insulted by our pediatrician when they found out we decline all vaccinations for him. This being said, we were told we have to find a new pediatrician.

Well here we are, and we haven't found any welcoming pediatricians as of yet in our area. Please PM me or reply on this thread if you know of any fantastic pediatricians in the area of Nassau county, NY (this is on the border of Long Island and Queens).

Try Dr. Richard Lippmann in Baldwin   http://www.drrichonline.com/ 

he is young, has young kids himself - he is pretty relaxed about vaccines - i wanted to delay for at least a year and i did have to sign something......   he is pretty relaxed regarding homebirth, breastfeeding and co-sleeping as well - he recently added a second doctor - who is FAR more uptight!

LO is 14 mo. old and so far so good!

Thanks motherhendoula. Are you aware of any doctor's in New York (whether it may be quite a drive) that fully support exempting vaccines, and may even encourage it? I've heard of Dr. Lawrence Palevsky.

Hello!

We recently moved to Nassau too and were also looking for a ped. that supported us not vax our kids. I wasn't unfortunately able to find anyone in Nassau but did find someone in Huntington - her name is Dr. Tomei and she seems very pro holistic medicine and although I have only had a couple of visits with her so far, she didn't comment/bat an eyelid on the kids not being vaccinated (which a lot of others who supposedly 'support no vax' do). 

I know how hard it is :-( We moved from Westchester and I LOVED the group of doctors I had there (Dr. Lawrence Baskind & team, for anyone interested) and was so sad to have to leave.
