I found out I am pregnant last week and my fiance is ecstatic about it, me not so much. We are getting married in 2 months! I want kids with him so that is not the problem i just wish it could have waited till after the wedding! I have no idea how to deal with this, planning a wedding and being pregnant at the same time is far too much stress!! I quit drinking alcohol and caffeine the minute i found out but haven't quit smoking cigs yet. I was a HEAVY caffeine drinker, 6 or more cups a coffee a day plus energy drinks. I am so cranky and tired and all i want to do is focus on my wedding but cant. I am gonna be a fat bride who cant have a glass of wine at her own wedding!! If anyone has words of encouragement i would great appreciate it.

It does suck when things don't go the way you planned, but give yourself time to get over the shock and I bet it will work out. I would be disappointed to not be able to drink at my wedding, but you can always take a sip of your husband's champagne to toast -- a few sips of wine are not going to hurt the baby. As far as caffeine goes, I think most research points to it being okay to drink a moderate amount of caffeine. You should still be fine having a cup or two of coffee.Â
Quitting smoking is seriously hard! I was a pack a day smoker when I got pregnant (totally accidentally) and quitting smoking was tough. I won't lie, it was really tough. But four years later, I'm so glad that I HAD to quit -- I don't know that I would have stopped smoking voluntarily. Getting pregnant may have added a decade or more to my life.Â
The other good news is that you'll only be, what, three months pregnant at the wedding? Is it your first baby? You probably won't even be showing much. Did you get your dress at a wedding store? Talk to them and see if you need to get anything lined up as far as alterations go.Â
I totally understand what a systems level shock an unplanned pregnancy can be.But the fact that you have a finance who's excited about the pregnancy, and you were already planning on getting married and having babies together, is going to make it a lot easier. Good luck, and congratulations.Â

I'm not a single mom but want to share......I'm having a BIG surprise baby. I was very depressed about it! It helped me to just move forward and take care of my 2 boys and remind myself that it will be OK. You getting married and that is a special thing. Â
Â
PP is right you can have some caff and a sip of wine at the wedding.
Â
I hope all works out for you.
