What does your baby wear to bed?

We co-sleep (me, my DW, DD who is 7.5 months and our dog) in a queen sized bed.  Our DD shares a comforter and sheet with us and sleeps pressed up against me for most of the night.

I think the baby may be too hot at night and that may be contributing to our sleep issues.  For the first few months she slept in her diaper and a muslin swaddling blanket (in a very lose burrito wrap with her arms free).  We then thought that she might be getting cool on her shoulders, so we started putting her in a sleeper.  Sometimes a footed onesie with long sleeves or a short sleeved no leg onesie.  Whether we're sleeping with her, sitting in bed beside her, or have left her alone, her head seems to soak the sheet and her jammies are damp.

The room is 19-20 degrees (66-68 in fahrenheit), there's a fan blowing and the window is open a crack (it's cold here now at night).  Even at this moment she's sleeping on my lap and her forehead is cool while her hair and back of her onesie is lightly sweaty.

Well, it's autumn here now and our room is probably around the same temperature as yours (but without the cracked window and fan).  We have a little space heater and an air purifier.

Anyway, our little fellow (18mo) wears leg warmers, a diaper, and a shirt to bed.  Lately  he's been waking up with cool forearms, so they've been long-sleeved shirts.  He and I share a quilt, but he nearly always kicks it off.

Our bodies have a temperature spike at some point during the sleep cycle, so it makes sense that you might find your baby to be hot.  I think it's probably okay, and it definitely doesn't sound like you're overdressing her.

Does she have a lot of hair? DS is 2 months old and was born with (and continues to grow) hair that any Hollywood hunk would be jealous of. While it's adorable, he gets SO hot at night, like your DD, literally soaks through the sheets and wakes up RAVENOUS! All I can ever put him in, not matter how cold it is out, is a short sleeve onsie and socks...and the socks usually come off a few hours after going to bed! We have cotton sheets and a down comforter, but he kicks EVERYTHING off, and then gets cold b/c the sweat dries, we cover him up, he sweats, the cycle continues. I do keep a lightweight sweatshirt and pants on my nightstansd for him, it's easier to put on/remove layers than redress different onesies int he middle of the night,

There just doesnt seem to be a way to make the room comfortabel for all three of us, so we're just dealing with the constant covering and uncovering and hope as he gets older he can do some of that himself!!

Good luck :)

My 2 week old sleeps in a  t-shirt and diaper.  He is often wet from milk, but not sweat.  He sleeps under the blanket and against an adult and the room is warm enough that I'm comfortable in a t shirt.

My daughter would sweat if she wore more than a t shirt usually.  She was too hot to sleep under the covers, tho.

My 2 1/2 yrs old sleeps best with a shirt and underwear. If he is wearing pants or anyhting on his legs he doesn't sleep very well. It took sometime to figure that out. EVEN as a little guy he was the same.

You do what works best for you.
