Welcome Maekati!
Glad you're joining us!
We do check in on Mondays.
I hope you find it helpful!
I just started last week and the support has been so, so wonderful for me!
Good luck and take care!

I indulged on Easter..I have such a weakness for chocolate!

But I'm down by 1 pound so I'm not going to complain.

Start(March-04): 223.5
Current: 222.5
Mini-goal for next monday: 220
Goal for June 10 2004 (bday): 199
Goal for Christmas 2004: 165

I'm being really good about drinking water...about 3-4 quarts per day. And I've cut my sugar and processed carb consumption down quite a bit.

I still need to get in the exercise. I found my Pilates sheet for the winsor dozen (can't use the dvd right now, no player) so i can start doing that again.

Jakob is sleeping now.....I think it's time to exercise.

Pretty cool...this a.m. I decided to hop on the scale and I'm down another pound and a half. So from last week I'm down 2.5 pounds.

Start(March 04):223.5
Current: 221.00

So my goal for Monday of 220 is closer than I thought. Okay, I'm off to drink my morning quart of water...and my yerbamate is done brewing too.

I'm so glad I started posting here again, it really is helping me to "report in" and have the support and inspiration from you all.

World-
I'm glad you're here too!
Good to hear that you're doing well
It is so inspiring to have everyone around for support.
I almost bought junk food at the grocery store yesterday but thought of you all and put it back on the shelf!!

can I join the weight loss group?

Are you all doing anything in particular or to each his/her own? My son is 13months and I weigh 143. I'm 5foot2inches and at the height of pregnancy I weighed 165. Before pregnancy I weighed 120- which is my ideal weight. I was on bedrest for 5 weeks prior to a 33 week delivery and I think that turned my muscle to, well, just flab. I'm working out daily but I'm so darned hungry all the time. I'm also pretty sleep deprived which doesn't help. But- I'd love to get some support.

Hi Kimberly!

We're kind of doing our own things but just checking in here.

I am with you - I am 5'2" (if I stretch I might hit the 5'3" mark so I always tell people I'm 5'3"). At the height of my last pregnancy I was 185. Yikes. I am 139 now and not going anywhere (sigh) despite working out a bit and trying to pass on the extras here and there. My weight is amazingly stable (I've been this weight for over 2 years now) despite eating like a total pig (at least as much as my 6'3", 280lb husband). You would think if I stopped eating like a total pig it would go down, but no. In fact, while I was in college, the more I ate the LESS I weighed. It was bizarre. I was 100 lbs and going to the caffeteria to load up my tray 4x a day.

I was just reading Curves: Permanent Results Without Permanent Dieting by Gary Heavin yesterday and he talks about that. He said that your body learns to live on less when you eat less, so by eating less you sabotage your chances of losing weight. Our ancestors had trouble finding food at times and it was amazing and lifesaving that their bodies could live on less when needed. He calls it a starvation mode. He claims the more you eat, the more weight you will lose, but of course there are good and bad foods. Lots of cool info in there, I'm still reading the book. Check it out!
