Convertible car seat for a tiny car?

DH has a Mini Cooper that he loves. He wants to put a convertible car seat in it for the rare occasions he'll be driving with DD in his car. I have a Britax Marathon in my car (an SUV). It's great but HUGE. Any tips on a smaller, but equally safe, convertible car seat that will fit in a Mini Cooper?

Our Britax (I think it is a marathon too) fits in our Corolla which isn't large.  It's hard to get it in but once it is in, it is no problem.

Combi Coccoro.  It fits perfectly in my Ford Focus hatchback.  The downside is the height/weight restrictions are 40" and 40 lbs which is not as high as a lot of other convertible carseats out there.  I'm dreading this day but for now, it works!

I had a Mini Cooper and got the First Years True Fit.  The head rest comes off so RF it's pretty short.  The biggest problem was how tall it was RF, the front passenger seat had to be all the way forward and pretty straight up and down.  It was uncomfortable for DH (6' 1") to sit in the front, so when I drove he just sat in the back with her.  Once DD was tall enough for the headrest, we just dealt with it that way until she was able to go FF.

Wondering if this carseat would fit a 2006 Pontiac G6?  the backseat is 2 bucket seats with a console in the middle.

We have a Ford Fiesta hatchback and it has a very small, very steep backseat. We went through carseat h*ll trying to find anything that would work! We bought the First Years True Fit and there was no way to install it at the newborn angle in that car, with or without headrest. I LOVE the TrueFit though and use it in my pickup truck and my DH's Mazda 3 hatchback.

What we ended up doing was buying a Evenflo Triumph carseat and installing it behind the passenger seat, once DS was past needing the newborn angle. The passenger seat is pretty uncomfortable to sit in but it can be used. Most of the time though if DH and I are both in the car, I just sit in the backseat. When we have a second baby though, I think the car may have to go.

I've heard the Combi Coccoro is awesome, but it's not available in Canada so I wasn't able to try it greensad.gif
