History/Geography/Science Curriculum?

Looking for a history, geography and science curriculum for my 4th and 5th graders. Currently using BYFIAR and I am not just loving it for these subjects. Any recommendations?

I love love LOVE History odyssey from Pandiapress.com  thumb.gif  It's got your history, geography, and even a fair bit of writing (summaries, little 'essays') as you get further into the program.   My kids loved it as well.  There is map work, vocabulary, hands on projects and such.  We liked it enough that we've used the ancients and Medieval books of level 1 and we're heading into level 2 now!

They have a science program as well, but at this point it is just chemistry, life science, and earth & space and goes up to grade 4/5 but they do not have level 2 ready for any of the subjects yet.  So you'd be on the hunt again next year unfortunately.

I am using their science this year for my third grader.  My sixth grader often does it too.  I think it can work for older kids if you let it be the starting point, and letting them go deeper when they hit an something that interests them.  We are doing Earth/Space.  The space part is too much review for my 6th grader, but the rest has been great.  I love that you use library books for the bulk of the lessons and that they give lots of activities to do with each unit.

We used it for 3rd too :)  with my 2 (one was grade 3, one was prep/k)  and I agree that it easily spans a few years worth of learning levels with a few tweaks.  Add some extra bits for an older child with online links etc, and I picked up some materials from montessoriforeveryone to add for both of them... and then there are the voyage to the planets documentaries that we watched along with it, which made it so much more real!
