Hylands Teething Tablets?

Thread Starter

Can someone explain to me the controversy that happened with Hylands Teething Tablets? I keep hearing that they are "bad" for your LO, and were taken off shelves, but now they are back in production.  All the info I hear is from very unreliable sources, so what's the real deal?

I have some teething tablets that I plan on using when DS starts teething but haven't needed them yet, but we LOVE their colic tablets.

We use these for our 5 month old and they seem to work ok- I haven't heard of any controversy but now you've got me very interested in responses...

I believe that ppl were "overdosing" their kids. I heard that they have new dozing instructions and less belladonna per tab.oh, and a child safety cap. but it's unclear on their own website even. we are using them since they came back, they work pretty good but I wonder if they used to work better. I'm under the impression that the problems that occurred could be linked to negligent use.

The controversy was that the amount of belladonna per tablet was not consistent.  They have since added more stringent quality control in order to make sure there is the same amount of belladonna in each tablet.
