Where are we all from? - Page 2

My family moved around fairly often growing up.  I was born in TN, then lived in GA, IA, CO, and NC.  Also spent several years in FL and SC for college.  I met and married my husband in NC and our first two were born there.  We just moved to TN this past Feb.  Love it here - we're in an awesome city, but also not far from great hiking and natural areas.

Grew up in suburban/rural PA and moved to NYC for college 14 years ago and never looked back.  Within NYC started in Manhattan for 3 years, moved to Brooklyn (loved it) for 10 years, then recently hit the jackpot for buying an affordable apartment in downtown Manhattan, so we're back!  Even though I had previously lived in the crunchy mom mecca in Brooklyn, I'm really loving this part of Manhattan with so many parks and green spaces and access to water.  And feel blessed to have amazing neighbors who are always outside playing, always up for impromptu gatherings outside or in, just miss the bring a bottle of wine to share aspect now that I'm pregnant again!  That's how everyone figured out I was pregnant here, I'm normally the first to rally everyone together for wine and potluck.

Wow, you all have such great stories!

AFM, I was born and raised in CT, went to upstate NY (well, those in NYC consider it upstate, but those in REAL upstate would laugh) for college, and have stayed here ever since.

I've lived in Louisville, KY my whole life. It's not great, but it's getting better here as far as natural living, tolerance, etc. You can at least find a small group of like-minded folk.

I've lived in Idaho pretty much all of my life. Different areas of it, but all Idaho (except for 2 years in Utah when I was very little),

Hi everyone,
I'm from Melbourne, Australia. Have lived a few places in Australia and spent my late teens/early twenties in London, England but Melbourne is home.

Most of you are all talking about your summer babes - I had one of them last time. In fact it was the hottest summer on record and we lived in a house without A/C. It was horrible. Now though, we have A/C but not especially adequate heating for having a winter baby. Nonetheless, I'm pretty thrilled by the prospect. You can always add more blankets and layers.

Whereabouts in MD? We just recently moved from Laurel in Anne Arundel County. Its like smack dab in the middle between Baltimore & D.C. It was a very nice area. Before we planned on leaving, though, we wanted to move to the country in Howard County. I loved it up there!

I was born in Virginia and lived there and parts of North Carolina for the first 18 years or so of my life. I've moved around quite a bit since then and now I'm living in Vancouver, BC. I wasn't sure what I'd think of Canada when I moved up here for work, but I ended up liking it so much that I've been here for 5 years now and looking forward to applying for citizenship in the spring when I'm finally eligible.

Looks like we have a few ladies from Texas here! I lived in Dallas for 4 years, myself.
