"Currently Viewing" panel on the right - how to get rid of it?

It messes up the thread and text alignment for me. Is there a switch somewhere for it?

It's not an element we can control as it is integral to the platform software. But you can report the alignment issues by submitting a feedback form about it. http://www.mothering.com/community/feedback

How can I opt out of my name showing up when I'm viewing something? I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it or figure it out!

I don't like the idea of people being able to see what topics I'm looking at... a bit too invasive for me.
