I am also glad this is here...my first was a csection, and I always felt like there wasn't enough support in this area. Thanks new mods!

I'm so excited to see this forum here as well.  My third babe will be here tomorrow or Monday by planned c-section.  I've badly wanted vaginal births with all of them, but it wasn't in the cards for us.  My second was so much better than my first and I'm truly hoping I'll be able to at least have my baby girl delivered onto my chest this time around.  At least I know nursing in recovery and rooming in are standard and found out today that in the unfortunate/unlikely event of a NICU visit, my hospital uses only donor milk, not formula.

I wish I had known it was possible to request that your child be delivered onto your chest!  I had never even heard of that possibility until you said it!  That is the main reason (well, a big one, anyway) that I am delighted about this forum's existence:  there are possibilities moms can learn about that may dramatically improve how they feel about their children's birth via c-section, and delivering on the chest would seem to be one of them.

Also, it is super cool that your hospital uses donor milk.  Again, something I wasn't aware that any hospitals anywhere would promote.  Excellent.

And, also...YAY FOR THIS FORUM AND WELCOME TO ONE AND ALL!   joy.gif

Hey ladies, just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of those who worked hard to get this forum.  I hope that we can make it something that will be a positive for MDC.  I needed a lot of support after my c-section (02/2009) and didn't feel a good fit in the other subforums, so hopefully this will be a good thing for all of us.  Can't wait to learn from you all and share experiences!

I'm also glad this forum is here.  I watched the request thread as it evolved and I think this will be a great resource!

I'm happy (and a little surprised!) to see a c-section forum at MDC (finally!!)  My 4 births have gone c/s, c/s, vba2c, c/s, and if we have anymore children, it will be by c/s.

I am also happy to see this here- I know it was a tough call for MDC to decide this based on their promotion of natural childbirth- it is a really tricky area to figure out but I am glad there is now a place to have open and honest conversation about this subject.

I am bumping this to again say thanks.  I was just able to refer a friend here who must have a RCS due to medical history and I felt there would be great info here with an AP slant.....it's a comforting feeling to have this reference.
