Wanna help me speculate?

I am not temping, just noticing position and CM. Iusually have a 24 day cycle, with a rare, random, occasional 26-27 day cycle thrown in. I don't know the length of my luteal phase, so we started BDing on day 7 and went every night (CD 7, 8, 9 and 10). Last night was CD 10 and my cervix was super low and felt firm, it felt sore when we DTD and my CM was pretty dry. I had EWCM on day 7, but not a lot. I figure if my luteal phase is average, I must ovulate around day 9-11... I have felt pretty dry the last few days. I don't have sore BB's which I usually do in the luteal phase...

Today is CD11. I "feel" wetter but when I check it is sticky with a tiny bit of EW. Also, my cervix feels high and soft again! All day I have felt "ovulatory" meaning I am sort of crampy. Of course DH is too tired tonight to DTD. irked.gif I made him promise to wake me up in the wee hours, LOL.

So my question is, if I am feeling ovulatory today, i.e. having mittleshmirtz, etc. did I miss it if we don't DTD until tomorrow morning? Because I have not been having super fertile CM, I didn't hold much hope for the swimmers living very long in there. I am just praying that I O'd really early this morning and last night's BD was the one. I know that you can feel ovulation cramps the day before, of or after, right?

I know it is frustrating that I don't have temps. Just couldn't do it this cycle because of erratic sleep. Forgive the quasi-cross post in the One thread, but I had new info (the crampiness) and wanted to get some feedback.

It's pretty rare to regularly O on CD 9 or 10.  It would be my guess that you have a shorter LP.  If we guessed that you had a 10 day LP (which is generally agreed to be the shortest possible to sustain a pregnancy), then you might O around CD 14-16.  I think it is safer to assume that you O in between these two extremes and therefore the fertile CF you are experiencing now is most likely indicative of O.  It is not common to have wet or EW directly after O, generally women dry up at least to creamy or sticky.  You always record your most fertile CF for the entire day, so even if it is sometimes sticky, if you have any EW at all, then the day is marked as EW.  So I would absolutely get dh to DTD today and every day that you continue to have fertile CF, plus a few days beyond.  If every 24 hours is too much then you can go for every 36 hours instead.

Even if you don't notice a ton of fertile CF it is still possible for the sperm to survive a few days up there, so I would say that if you O'd yesterday and didn't get to DTD, there should be sperm present from the day before.  And you can DTD today.  That would give you O-1 and O+1, which is good.  But if you're having any fertile CF today then keep on going b/c I think it is more likely that you would O around CD 12 or 13.

As for temping, I have managed to always get a biphasic pattern despite very erratic sleep.  Just aim for the same time each morning and don't worry about how many nightwakings there were or how long your blocks of sleep are.  When TTC those temps are so helpful!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks Jaimee! It is so frustrating when DH craps out. We managed to DTD one more time. I hope we didn't miss the O!
