Doula in NE Ohio (Westlake area)

Looking for a birth doula that will go to St. John's in Westlake for my (water) birth in late February.

We are on a tight budget and while I have heard great things about Rae and Sunday, I just cannot afford them.

I am fine with a doula working toward certification, or one in training as long as they give me a good vibe.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also, what are "going rates" for doulas in training who are training under some of the "cream of the crop" doulas?

Thanks mamas!

Hey mama! I'm having a water birth at St John in Dec/Jan! Ask your midwife for a list of Doulas..who is your midwife? (: She'll likely tell you they are expensive but it also doesn't hurt calling one of them and asking if they have any in training or work on a rate with them!

I am seeing Colleen Brezine.  Love her.  The only doula's name I was given by one of the other midwives was for Rae.  Who is great I'm sure, but I can't afford her.  I did end up finding one who was willing to drive a little out of her normal range for me!  We met and felt a good vibe...so we hired her.  She is Rachel from neartoyoudoula.com

Try doulamatch.net maybe?  I know there aren't many doulas practicing in the area lately it seems.

This is where we found our midwife and I saw that they have doulas too. You might try asking the people who own the website if they know of anyone, they helped me http://naturallyborn.net/
