A Unique Situation?

Hey everybody,

I'm going to be a stay at home mama in (or around) March.

This is going to represent a number of bigtime changes in my life, not the least of which is that it'll also be when I start living full time as a woman. I've been out as trans to family and friends for a few months now but I'm still working as a guy through February.

My wife and I talked a bit about the timing of the pregnancy and transition and it seemed like the only way to do both was simultaneously. We wanted my transition to be mostly settled by the time the kid is old enough to really remember what's going on but we wanted to wait to have me start taking hormones until after conception and a healthy first trimester. It seems logical to us but we haven't heard of anyone else who's approached things this way. (Luckily, the potential hormonal chaos that either could invoke hasn't happened.)

So we'll be a lesbian family with no donor. I'll be the non-gestational mama but not the non-biological parent.

This seems like a friendly place. I'm glad to be here.
