Looking forward to a Spring/Summer baby! - Page 2

This is funny. I'm in Arizona, so I'm actually a little worried about having the baby in June since it is just so dang hot. The best time to have a baby here is in the early spring or fall/winter. My friend just had her baby last June and she had to suffer through several months of sweating with the baby in the moby wrap! It didn't really start to cool down here until just a few weeks ago!

Haha, I'm in south MS and we will have been in the 90's for a month before I deliver at the beginning of June! Summer lasts at least half the year. I was really looking forward to delivering at the beginning of October this year (with the baby I lost) because it's not technically cool, but it's not nearly as hot either and it keeps getting cooler. Our temps have been in the upper 70's the last few weeks with the lows only in the 60's (and HUMID) but that's a heck of a lot nicer than mid to upper 90's! At least we have air conditioning. (:

Here, too! I'm in Louisiana. It was close to 90 degrees here yesterday, and it's late November. lol.gif

It was 85 degrees yesterday here in south TX in November. I am feeling like I'm being cheated out of my fall/winter. I want cold temps now!!!

My first baby was an April baby.  That was perfect--no heat of the summer, warm days, cuddly nights.  But I had to go buy short sleeves and tank tops in FEBRUARY because I was so danged hot, thanks to pregnancy furnace.  ;)

I'm dreading June.  Better than July or August, sure, but it's not typically a cool month here and I don't cope well with heat.  Better here than further south, where I'd just keel over.  I was TTC for an *earlier* baby (Feb/March), but it didn't happen.

I'm very happy to be having a June baby!  It only starts to warm up here in May/June so it will be PERFECT.  It's SOOOO cold here from December to April that I would dread having to be couped up all winter long with a newborn.

Lite I am so with you - i live in the mountains in Ab - we sometimes still have snow in May - even some years into June - summer is going to be perfect to have a new baby and they will be at least 3 months old before the snow flies - hopefully - 1 year it snowed and stayed in small amounts Aug 30th - ugh!!!

there is a part of me that is jealous of our neighbors to the south with their lovely warm weather  - our hottest day this year i think was 34 - we only had 4 days that cracked 30C

so happy not to be pregnant during the summer tho - my SIL was miserable!!!

Hey Summer, I used to live in Banff - a long time ago but I still remember how it would seem to be colder because the sun went down behind the mountains so early. I'm now living in the Niagara Region on Ontario where the humidity regularly puts us a over 45C with the humidex. June is usually not too hot though and we did break down and get an air conditioner last year so at least the baby wont melt.

I could've written this! I love in South Carolina and June is almost as horrid as July/August. It will be in the 100s by the time this baby comes... the weather the original poster is referring to comes March/April around here! I've had 3 May babies and my last, born May 20th, was born right in the middle of our first heat wave that year. It was 101* that day!!! I've never been pregnant past May 20th, so I'm nervous about how I'll tolerate the heat this year in my last trimester... plus, I'm due end of June and tend to go late, so I'm looking at the possibility of a South Carolina JULY baby... oh my... all I can think about is sweaty nursing and trying to keep a tiny baby cool and out of the relentless sun.

Looking back at the posts of all the southern states people and LOLing. It was 80* 3 days this week... it's down in the 70s now.

Summer1987, I'm in "winterpeg" so I'm really happy!  They say there are two seasons here, winter and construction...lol  Although our summer this year was AWESOME.  Our spring started off iffy, it rained and rained and rained.  Than it got hot and stayed hot and dry all of July and August.  Probably won't want to be 9 months pregnant in that heat.  I hope we have another nice summer.  You must love living in Banff... they scenery and all... nice.

After a November baby and a February baby, both born in Maryland, I am VERY much looking forward to a summer baby in Texas!  And it's not so late in the summer that I will be too miserable at the end of the pregnancy......Texas summers are so crazy hot!  I am just not looking forward to wearing the Moby Wrap in August :P

I am looking forward to an early June baby. My DS was born the end of January and the day we were to be released from the hospital it was a crazy blizzard. The hospital didn't want to release us but my midwife signed off on the release so I could get out of there. DH drove the car through about 2 feet of snow very slowly home. It was crazy. Also I had to get out of the house daily or i would go crazy and even went out with DS in the wrap under my down parka but it was too cold to stay outside so had to walk to places and stay inside. I am envisioning taking baby and DS to the park and lounging on a blanket on the grass with babe while DS plays at the park....:) I just hope it is not too hot this summer!

Oh and the thing I am most thrilled about is not having to use a dumb baby bucket car seat. I hate lugging those things around and love wearing the baby.

i am happy to be expecting a summer baby again too. but my fav was my april baby. i liked that season the best for baby. i could have windows open and be on the porch. with a late june baby, i will be stuck inside with the air conditioning on. but it will be nice to not have to have more clothes than just some shirts and maybe some socks for being in the air.
