Co-Sleeping Kicking Toddler--a Little Worried

DS is 2.5 and co-sleeps, nurses. Last night he pushed his foot into my tummy right where my uterus is a few times. It scared me! I usually have a pillow there but it must have moved. I have had no cramping or bleeding and I am 9.5 weeks. Already on bedrest due to severe m/s. Any reason to be worried?

No. At 9.5 weeks there is a good chance your uterus isn't even above the symphisis pubis yet. And, even if it has, it is well protected by your abdominal muscles and it's own muscular structure.

No, I don't think you should dwell on this incident, especially if you have no symptoms.  Maybe you could switch places with your partner so that he will be the one kicked?  I mean, he probably won't mind since it's for a good cause, right?

Alternately, you could try sleeping in another room, which may feel less harsh to your toddler than making him move to a different room.  (You could settle in with him to do your nursing first - I assume he's not getting up in the middle of night to nurse at his age.)

I had a similar issue with DS but he was only 15 months when I got pregnant with DD. I ended up having him sleep next to DH or at least with my back to him unless we were actively nursing in the middle of the night.
