Thread Starter

me and my hubby been ttc for about 8 months now and nothing so far. I am one day late with my visit with af. been having some cramps but i've been having these cramps for some time seems like about 2 wks. we have also been using clomid to ensure that i do ovulate. and I have. Been on clomid for about three months so this time when my husband came home from afghan i just knew everything was going to work out. the light headiness that i have been getting is kinda consistent with my first pregancy when i went to the er thinking i was diabetic but he told me no u are preg. i am not sure as to continue to wait for AF. I took a preg test today and got a bfn but i am thinking that it is just to early i am DPO 15. do i give up hope for this round and wait til my hubby comes home again.

Welcome to MDC!!  wave.gif  I'm sorry you didn't get any responses earlier!  I assume that AF has shown or you got your BFP by now!  I wanted to say, though, that unless you're temping, there is no way to confirm O and O can easily be delayed by many common things like travel, stress, injury, illness, diet changes, exercise changes, etc.  Even with very regular cycles this can be the case.  Without temping there is also no way to know for sure that your luteal phase is truly 14 days.  The average is 12-14, but many women have shorter LP's.  If that is the case for you, then you may be timing sex too early in your cycle.  15 DPO is really not early to test.  While it is true that some women don't get their BFP until a bit later, the vast majority of women will get accurate results on 12-14 DPO.  So it is my guess that AF showed shortly after you wrote this post due to delayed O that cycle.

If you'd like more information about charting your basal body temperature and cervical fluid just post!  Charting will tell you when you are fertile, if/when you O, how long your average LP is, when to test, when to expect AF, if you are pregnant, and if there is anything of concern happening with your cycle.  You mentioned you're on clomid... have you had ovulation issues in the past?
