I froze mine in tiny chunks in ice cube trays after my last birth and then thawed a few each day under warm water so I could use them in smoothies. I did my smoothies for about three and a half weeks and they really were a huge help with my hormonal adjustment. I was a mess without my smoothies.
My recipe: A couple of chunks of placenta, thawed out. One scoop of orange sherbet. About a half cup of frozen cherries. A bunch of orange juice. The orange really covered up any flavor that might have been in the placenta and the cherries covered up the texture. I just blended the hell out of it so that there were NO identifiable placenta bits. Then I drank it as fast as it is humanly possible to drink a cold smoothie. Grossed me out a lot, but it really helped me!
I hope to have mine encapsulated this time around. In my area there is no one to do it and I was not up to doing it myself after giving birth. This time I'll be giving birth in northern CA and I'm SURE there is someone who can provide that service!
