Baby fell, hit head hard

I feel really terrible and can not stop thinking about what happened. About a week ago my darling daughter (who will be 4 months old by the end of this month) rolled off our bed which is around 2 feet high..I did not see the actual fall but heard the loud THUD and then her cry. My dr says that since she cried right away its likely she did not suffer a concussion, her pupils were fine, no bumps or bruises, i even had an osteopath check her out and he said she would be okay. But...im still worried. ever since the fall ive noticed she will sometimes do this head shake thing...its almost like she has the chills or is shivering. I'm not sure if she has always done this or if it just started after the fall. Not only that, but i feel as though she is not baby "talking" as much as she would. We used to have regular conversations but today I have not really been able to get her to talk to me. She still smiles, and was smiling shortly after the accident, still eating regularly. What should I do? Do i take her to get an MRI? i really dont want to as i know these tests can be very invasive. My poor poor babe =[ i feel like a horrible mommy....................

Oh please don't feel horrible! At this point there are days I feel my sons head must be getting very strong for the number of times he has fallen or I have bumped it! He even fell off the changing table onto a box once, & that is higher than the bed! There was a point where he started to do the head shake & I freaked out but other mamas assured me it was normal as he was playing with a new experience/feeling. Can't remember what age; definitely before 1 year. He has also gone through vocal & then not stages. I don't know that I would do an MRI but I'm not there... Maybe call your doc & let him know you are still concerned?

Just remember babies fall & bump into things often, especially when they get near or at toddler age! Does not make you a bad mommy!

I remember the first time my son fell off the couch onto his head hitting the metal leg of a coffee table. Oh boy I felt awful and had my shoes on and was on the way to the er- had them on the phone- they laughed at me and said not to worry....

babies fall and bump their heads- I remember later ds running smack dab into a tree and getting a huge knot on his head. It was awful.

I bet your baby is just fine. You are doing a great job mama.

Thanks ladies. i feel much better about the situation. She still is being more quiet then usual, but I heard from a few mamas that sometimes this will happen when they are about to learn a new skill! I think this might be the case. She's been intrigued by her feet lately and has been grabbing them like crazy. Perhaps she is just too pre occupied with this to worry about cooing for the moment. Also she's been improving A LOT in terms of hand/eye coordination. She is grabbing EVERYTHING and trying to put it in her mouth. I am sure she will be just fine! Thanks for the reassurances=)
