we're going through the same thing right now. dd has a stuffy nose and nursed *all*night*long* the other night. and woke countless times when she lost her latch. aaah!!! last night was a little better and the milkies got a few hours break this morning, but i sure hope she cuts back soon. this is definately wearing me out!

I'm still nursing my two year old dd (she's two years old today, yay!) but I night weaned her several months ago. She nurses a lot during the day though, and sometimes it is pretty uncomfortable. I'm hoping she will wean sooner rather than later, but I'm not going to push it.

I HAVE NIPPLE PAIN

Just had to get that out there. Holy crap does it hurt! I knew you would all understand...

So, does anyone else notice that staying super hydrated seems to help with the nipple tenderness? Also, how do your supplies seem so far? I was noticing that my milk seems very THICK lately, and a little bit salty too. Odd.

I'm nursing my nearly two year old.I haven't had any tenderness or sensitivity yet.I hope it stays that way!

The tenderness has passed for the time being, to be replaced with nausea...ugh...
I have noticed I seem to be making more milk, because my letdown is very noticable now.

I'm nursing a 4 1/2 year old, who says, "I want to nurse till I'm 18"... so, well, we've cut back recently but he still asks for it a lot. No pain yet. I don't mind if he continues, so far.

i feel like i can't stay hydrated enough. i feel like my supply has dried up a little despite dd's marathon nursing because she keeps saying they're empty and my breasts seem smaller : i've been drinking water even more than normal, and i usually drink a lot. i carry around a 16oz glass of water everywhere i go in the house and drink well over 100oz daily. probably closer to 150 or 200 but i lose track.

I nursed my first through my second pg. I had some nipple tenderness but it came and went (usually it would last a couple of days and show up once a month or so). It wasn't until just after DS was born that nursing DD started to really get on my nerves. But I still wouldn't have done any differently. DD still needed to nurse (she was 22 months when Tony was born) and I still remember how funny she thought it was when she could feel DS kicking. It even woke her up a couple of times :-)

I'm nursing my 2 year old dd. She is weaning with encouragement from me. I don't think tandem is for me. I nursed my oldest until he self-weaned at 21 months while I was pg with #2. I am hoping that dd will wean soon. She's almost there and is ready. You should have seen the dr's face t my pre-natal appt with #2 when I told her I was still nursing ds! She almost fainted. She said she had never had a patient who was pg and still nursing. I find that hard to believe!

I am nursing Kylie, who will be 4 in July, and Jaden who is 17 Months.
Kylie only nurses at night now.

I nursed through my last pregnancy, and started to have some soreness at about 10-12 weeks-about the time my supply dropped.

I am hoping to only be tandem nursing when this baby comes

I am nursing my 24 mo and only have soreness on the left side. I am also a little annoyed with nursing, which never bothered me until now. I tandem nursed for a year last baby. We'll see...

I'm nursing a 3+ year old a couple times a day. I hope it doesn't start to hurt! DS doesn't show any sign of (ever) quitting.

I'm nursing my 6.5 month old. I'm really nervous about my milk supply drying up.. .as I'd like him to make it to at least a year (preferably longer). I keep doing positive affirmations... I have plenty of mlk...I have plenty of milk...LOL

No nipple tenderness yet...but the little guy is cutting his first tooth, which is a frightening prospect

Nursing my 8 month old, no pain here *knock on wood* so far. I'm more concerned about losing my supply!

I'm still nursing my four year old, but only a couple of times a day at most, and for a few minutes only. I really think I am loosing what little supply I had, and really hoping he will wean. I nursed throughout my last pregnancy and tandem nursed for two more years (all my kids seem to wean at four), and really don't want to do it again.

I am still nursing my 28 mos old and am on the fence as to whether I would like to tandem nurse or not....I can see benefits but I think it might not be for me. We have night-weaned however, and that was a big relief! Surprisingly easy too.
