My son was born August 15th 2011 naturally with no complications

I declined any vax at birth and so far he had prevnar 13 at his 2 month apt-  I got scared nada homeopath I spoke to let me know if I did any vax that's the lowest risk one. Well currently my son is perfect but after the shot he cried unconsolably for an entire day and night.

What I want to know is, what do you do if you're nervous that baby will contract an awful vaccine preventable disease?

I think about worst case scenerios and it makes me so scared!

Im a sahm. Thx

My kids have had a few "vaccine preventable diseases," and I've read about the experiences of other unvaccinated kids who got other "vaccine preventable diseases," and not one experience involved inconsolable crying for an entire day and night. That should tell you something.

I "delayed" and ultimately declined all vaccines for my now almost 4 year old DD. She has never been sick with more than a mild cold (even when those around her are all ill).

I had your worries too. I remember how great they were, particularly when my DD was an infant.

A friend recommended that I come to this forum for guidance and reference, and it helped get me through those worries as well as helped me learn about vaccines from a different angle than the mainstream, fear-based one.

It's only my experience, but as the mother of a vax-free child, I can say: your child will be OK. Yes, kids get sick, and yes your worries about disease are normal and valid... but there is no guarantee that your child will be safer vaxed than unvaxed.

I think you need to educate yourself (if you have not already done so) on the risks of not vaccinating.  The risks to your son of actually getting most vaccinateable diseases are very, very small. more likely to be hit by lightning (perhaps twice!) small.

Of those that are not very small, the vaccines are either not that effective or the diseases are not that bad.

This is what I believe, but we all have different risk tolerance levels.

If you know all of this, but are simply having a fearful moment - I get it.  Truly I do.  But we should not make decisions out of fear.  Get the stats and arguments on both sides and go from there
