2012 Seed Catalogs

I swear, it gets earlier every year. But unlike holiday jumping, I actually don't mind getting seed catalogs in the mail. I like to start planning for next year as soon as I put the garden to bed. So far I've gotten Pinetree Garden Seeds (my favorite) and Vermont Bean Company. I'm looking forward to getting the new Baker Creek and Seed Saver's catalogs too.

Anyone else receive any yet?

Seed catalogs are about the only mail I enjoy getting.  :)

I've gotten High Mowing, but that's it.  I helped proofread the Baker Creek catalog a couple of weeks ago, so I have seen it in pdf form (and made my 'shopping list' from it), but haven't gotten it in the mail yet.

You got to proofread Baker Creek? So lucky! Their catalog is one of my favorites, and I love how Jere Gettle started the business when he was young. It's a great success story for farming and small business. Plus, their seeds are just top notch. And I was super excited to get the Heirloom Gardener since it's now on news stands; it's a great magazine.

They actually put the link out on their Facebook page and asked for people to proofread it.  I got a copy of their book as a thank you.  I didn't get a chance to go through the whole thing by the time the deadline for proofreading was up, but the bonus for me was that I had a copy of it before it went to the printers.  :)

By the way, their staff proofreader, whom they pay, I assume, is lucky to be employed, based on the sheer number of errors.  ;)

Wow, I follow their feed and I totally missed that! I'll have to keep an eye open for it next year.

I got the Vesey's seed catalogue last week, and it felt like it was already Christmas!  I love reading and planning.

Baker Creek finally came today! It's huge this year, and reads like a magazine, with a few recipes, seed saving tips and articles this year. Love it. It's going to take me days to get through it.

I've gotten the new Baker Creek, my first time getting a catalog from them, and you are so right! It was like a magazine I couldn't put it down! Love a lot of the seeds they offer and can't wait to order!

i also love baker creek! and i love supporting their business. i will say, i don't get the germination rate from them that i would like, but planting a little extra of everything seems to be working. i am looking forward to starting my own seeds this year!

I love Bakers Creek.... I wish I had my seed catalogs today.... None have arrived yet- it would be a good day to do some dreaming.

You guys should check out Smart Gardener. I just found out about it yesterday and it looks awesome. It's a free online garden planner. You can do a layout and choose what you're planting, succession planting plans, etc. I'm sitting down with my seed catalogs and computer this weekend and mapping everything out. :-)
