Cutting back on suger, avoiding caffeine, taking fish oil, taking emergen-c packets twice a day, and making sure I ate foods with lots of tryptophan all really helped me in my recovery. I still had to go on meds in the end though--probably a lower dose than if I hadn't done all those things. I also made sure to socialize at least three times a week, exercised as often as I could and made a point to get sunlight for at least an hour everyday.
