U/S at 7 weeks shows nothing

I had my first ultrasound today, trans-vaginal. I am very certain when I ovulated, putting me at 7 weeks 5 days today. The ultrasound tech said she couldn't see anything, maybe just "the beginnings" of something (I'm assuming she means empty sac), she was very vague and said maybe I have my dates off (I don't) and I left feeling confused and sad. My OB will get the results tomorrow. I have had only mild cramping and some slight brownish discharge during the past week. This is my first pregnancy so I have nothing else to judge it by.

Feeling down, any support would be appreciated.

Aw, I'm sure not having a definite answer was very worrying.  I don't know if, perhaps, a very long cycle or late ovulation would make seven weeks for you the equivalent of a significantly shorter period of time for someone else.  It certainly seems possible, and in that case, there would be no problem.  Of course, there are negative possibilities, as well, such as blighted ovum.  The best thing to do is probably to have as relaxing a night as possible, with lots of support from your partner, and just wait to talk to your OB tomorrow.
