Unexplained infertility

Thread Starter

Hello, Me and my  husband have been trying to concieve for over a year....

4 months naturally (found out i wasn't ovulating)

4 months on clomid

3 months on femera

1 months femera and repronex had iui

2 months all repronex had iui both cycles

My husband has been tested and is fine, I had a HSG done and tubes are fine..

I guess my question is does anyone know what would be the option after repronex... I have heard of all the other types of drugs...

I don't think IVF would be a consideration for us.. Our insurance doesn't cover it...  Im really worried the doc is gonna tell us there is nothing else he can do... Also I have an 18 year old and 14 year old from a pervious marriage and have never had a problem getting pregnant before.  Im only 35 so just a little worried... Thx

I don't have much knowledge about next steps, but I wanted to wish you the best.  I was unexplained for about 2 years with TTC #1 until I went to an RE.  He ran a different type of SA on my hubby and it turned out that he had morphology issues.  The first SA we took did not show morphology in its entirety; maybe check to see if it was the Kruger method they used with the SA just to rule out it isn't your DH?  Good luck!

Have they tried higher doses of all the meds they've tried you on? I'm guessing they would have, but if not, the doses might just be too low. I think there are other injectable options, but I can't for the life of me remember the names of any, or find the posts of the people I think got pregnant with them. Maybe someone else remembers?

I know they also use gonal F or Follistim (basically FSH) for IUIs (these are also used for IVF but at lower doses and for shorter period of time when preparing for IUI.) Often, these can also be used in combination with repronex (or menopur, which is another version of repronex). It all depends on what your doctor prefers!

Good luck!
