I'm 33.5 weeks pregnant. For the past few days, I've been getting engorged. Not super bad, but it's certainly a weird feeling for me considering I haven't been engorged since my daughter (who is now 33 months) was less than 6 months old. She nurses at naptime, bedtime, and in the morning most days. Some days she's in preschool during nap so she doesn't nurse then. She was nursing on one side at each of these times, but I've been encouraging nursing on the other side too especially at bedtime when the other one feels a bit full.

Anyway, I guess what I'm wondering is if I'm still making colostrum or if my milk has come in. Milk is great in general, but it would make me a little sad if the new baby doesn't get any colostrum, since it's like the gold mine of milk. I was under the impression that colostrum is the only thing that's produced until the birth? I haven't noticed any different color since my milk came back (it went away for a few weeks mid-pregnancy). I know that some people describe colostrum as kind of yellow-ish, but to me what came back in just looked like milk. My daughter has been nursing a lot more often than she was before my milk came back and some moms at LLL said they often do because colostrum tastes different. Can I tell by taste if it's colostrum still?
