Domperidone questions

Hi--could any of you mamas with domperidone experience tell me how long you had to take it?  I started about 2 weeks ago, got a huge supply increase after about 5 days and almost am having too much.  NOT complaining!  Thank goodness!  But I am able to purchase through a compounding pharmacy in my town and it's expensive.  Wondering should I try to decrease the amount I take each day or even stop after four-six weeks to see if my body will keep it going.  So scared to do this!   My DD is almost 8 months old.  I absolutely want to nurse until a year and nursed each of my other two for about 20 months.  Would love to hear your story of how long you took the med and when you were able to wean.  Thank you!

My son went on a nursing strike when he was 4 months old and I was exclusively pumping for month, and I was very nervous about my supply decreasing. After he got back on, I was feeling like I wasn't making enough and I started taking domperidone to ramp up my supply. I took 2 10 mg tab three times a day (the low end of the recommended dose, I think) and noticed an immediate increase. I stayed at that level for two or three weeks and then tapered off, going to 2 pills 2 x per day then 1x per day over the course of a week maybe. I started drinking Mother's Milk tea around the end there. I think my supply stayed up just fine after that- we're now at 15 months and still nursing. I bought my dom online from the inhousepharmacy.boz place, it was soooo much cheaper than the compounding, which I'm not even sure we have in Hawaii.
