diaper rash on inside of thighs?

My son is 3 months old and for two weeks he has been having a red blotch on each side of his inner thighs.

We have tried different diapers, cloth diapers and disposable ones. And it does not seem to better much. It occurred when we were using disposable diapers and cloth diapers at the same time because we were hoping he would fit in the larger size cloth diapers (sun baby).

We tried changing him more often, changing him at night when he sleeps (when he wakes to nurse it is not a good time to change him because he will stay up for hours), only sun baby cloth diapers, pampers swaddlers (which he used when he was very small, newborn), huggies..

We tried boudreaux's natural butt paste and it bleached his thighs, scrotum and peepee!!! (He has a brown skin tone), corn starch does not seem to help either, neither does airing him out frequently. I don't know what else we could do, I have been considering going to a pediatrician...

Any ideas? :(

I have had good luck treating diaper rashes on my baby with coconut oil. Have you tried that? When he's got a rash (he's had one twice in his 11 weeks) I really slather the stuff on and then put his diaper on. When he doesnt have one I use a liberal amount, but not as much. Front and back, and thighs get oiled up at every diaper change :)

I've also used Weleda Calendula Care with success.

My son gets chaffing from his diapers that sounds like this. Unpetroleum was just recommended to me. Also keep an eye Out for a yeasty rash that you'd want to treat for sure.
