Great to find you!

Hello, my name is Jennie and I'm a 35 year old mother to two teenage daughters and a 5 month old son.  We cloth diaper, bed share, baby wear, buy organic, don't own a television (though my girls have discovered netflix and lordy- that's just as bad...), eat vegetarian, buy organic, breastfeed, don't vax, birth at home, discipline gently, and all that jazz, but I'm new to the phrase "attachment parenting" and to the realization that there are a multitude of other unconventional parents out there raising their kiddos in a way that makes sense to me.

I have little experience with internet forums, but thought I would look for an online support group when I became pregnant with DS last fall.  I stumbled into one (at another site) and joined a DDC populated by folks with a very mainstream attitude toward pregnancy/birth/childrearing.  I didn't feel like I had tons in common with the mamas there: although there were some nice ladies, it just wasn't what I was looking for and I had the feeling that if I spoke up about what I was up to or what I really thought about things I'd be branded a weirdo extremist.  Needless to say, this forum is a breath of fresh air!

I have stumbled around a bit here, lurking some, posting only a couple of things, and mostly getting lost. I am very impressed by the intelligence of the posters on this site.  There are so many well reasoned and researched opinions expressed, and so much good advice given-  I am thrilled to find you all.

Welcome! I wish the magazine was still around as well. It was wonderful!
