To me spritz are Christmas cookies. My recipe is all butter, too. Since we have a walnut allergy at our house I make my Mom's recipe for walnut crescents using pistachios instead of the walnuts. I make "chocolate" cookies with carob powder (migraines from chocolate for 2 of us). I make gingerbread dough and sugar cookie dough for rolling out and cutting shapes. I'm hoping to get most of them done while the kidlets are in school and hide most of them. Otherwise they won't last till Christmas eve when we will have company over for pot roast, etc. I'd love to make the shortbread recipe from PP. Made with brown sugar I imagine it will be like butterscotch flavor. I have made them with 10x (powdered) sugar, butter, vanilla and flour. I think plain shortbread are my absolutely favorite cookies.

I always do rolled sugar cookies, though they are a lot of work, especially with little helpers. Ginger snaps are a must, and my recipe bakes up soft. and chewy. Sometimes we do the peanut butter blossoms, and I think this will be one of the years thanks to all of my WIC peanut butter!

DH's favorite is a pecan finger. It is a bar cookie with a shortbread crust and a pecan pie-like filling. I like to make these, but now DD is allergic to pecans and gets into everything. Maybe I will just have to make them and hide them...  He also likes butterscotch brownies, so those may show up.

will you share that one please?  i am lusting for ginger snaps but dh hates hates hates crunchy cookies (which is kind of the point of a snap, but i'll take what i can get)
