Signs and symptoms - Page 27

Well, I'm not happy you guys are dealing with this, but it does make me feel better that it seems to be a normal-ish thing.  One explanation I found for the headaches is the surge in blood volume these weeks, which would make some sense.  Whacky hormones also makes sense too.  Mine are definitely migraine like.. I've been having light sensitivity (aaaaallll day yesterday) and nausea that builds as the headache builds.  So far I've just been sleeping them off.  We're going out tonight, so I'll be taking Tylenol.  I've avoided any kind of medicine so far, but The Fetus is really pushing it this time.

Its sort of a relief to hear others are having these horrible headaches, all I could think about this week was I was developing pre-e and it was just a matter of time till things got worse.

today the headache is totally gone, but I also haven't been running yet, so I will be curious if that causes a 'relapse' of the headache from yesterday.

tomorrow I go in for an NT scan, for some reason I am really nervous mostly because I hate test, and tend to not trust the medical system.. but thats another thread :) I am hoping I can find out the gender, mostly because Im curious. I am hoping for 1 b/1 g mostly so I can tell them apart easier ;) (kidding, sort of).

Haha, yeah, I would want of each too. I'm sure we'd get them mixed up the first day and never again know who is who.

My aversions are getting ridiculous. I will be 3 bites into a meal and can't finish.  I can barely eat anything.  NO PROTEIN.  Normally by this time, all I can eat is tuna and eggs and healthy fruit.  I had 3 cherries and barely got them down.  I can have a few grapes at a time.  A tiny bit of chicken.

POOR unhealthy baby.

Oh-- that sounds so rough!  I am thankful that I'm usually able to finish my meal (small amount that it is!) but have noticed that I develop an aversion to EVERYTHING after I eat it once.  Well, most things.  I've been able to eat grapefruit constantly!

This my life. Food is SO unappealing right now. Even my once morning yogurt is a pain to finish now. UGH

I'm still dealing with some food aversions at 13 weeks, and I think my husband thinks I'm making them up.  We were talking about trying to choke down some healthy food like salmon and so on, and he said, "Well, I mean, wouldn't it be better to just try to choke it down?"  I couldn't explain to him the powerful visceral reaction you get when your body does. not. want. something.  It's not an issue of choice anymore.  It's your body telling you with every fiber of its being that you are not going to eat whatever it is.  He's confused too because like you, lakeruby, I'll be fine with something once and then can't do it again.  So he thinks (logically), "you ate it last week, so...".

We have so much food rotting in our fridge right now.  I'm steering more toward frozen entrees (Amy's and Annie's are decently healthy) and eating out just so I can get what I want without worrying about leftovers rotting away because I can't stand them.  I'm hoping this goes away soon!

Lately I'll be half-way through eating something, and then suddenly I can't even swallow my mouthful because I feel like I'm going to puke it all from being stuffed.  But I will have barely eaten anything.  It's getting REALLY annoying.  I'm trying to just eat small amounts, but it's hard to remember so then 4 hours later I'm starving and the whole thing starts all over again!  Grrr.

I am not having aversions but I do notice I am starving then have 2-3 bites and am totally full. What sucks is I am STARVING again in 20-30 mins and feel like I am just grazing all day. I am trying to force myself to eat more but man..

I am gaining weight, Im up about 3-4 lbs in the last 3 weeks which is good as I am FINALLY at my normal weight (food poisoning in december mixed with morning sickness caused me to lose 10lbs)

I feel like my m/s has gotten worse.  I spent all of Sunday, my only day off, puking.  I left the house once and ended up puking all over DPs car.  When I run out of food to throw up, I'd just throw up spit and stomach acid, you'd think I had alcohol poisoning, not that I was pregnant.   I'd eat and half way through eating  I would throw up.  I can't keep up with it.  I'm just happy if I can eat something and the next time I throw up what I ate isn't in there.  It sounds so gross, but at least then I know some of the nutrients made it into my body.  I also miss my old healthy diet...I've had to change what I eat and while I'm still getting in the protein, I'm noticing that I'm craving fat and carbs.  Specifically potatoes and mayonaise.  I don't like mayo, and I hardly ever eat potatoes.  But lately if I have a sandwich, I want it to have mayo, and I'm really, really digging potato salad. Also, lately I've loved milk, it makes my poor throat feel better after it is destroyed by stomach acid.  I'm almost ten weeks...I'm counting down like mad, and hoping the m/s doesn't continue past the first trimester.

My back hurts.

I have a nasty respiratory infection and leak urine when I cough.

The phlegm in the back of my throat makes me gag and gag and almost puke.

ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?

My back had been bothering me too. Deep squats and pelvic tilts have really helped.

Respiratory infections suck! Hope your feeling better. Have you tried a neti pot?

Squats are GREAT for strengthening the pelvic floor. Sorry for all the unsolicited advice! redface.gif

Hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy!

lactomom - any websites for squatting exercises?  I don't think I must be doing it right b/c my sneeze pee is seriously irritating.  I am still dealing w/ nausea and no foods sound good, either.  honestly, ice cream and cake sounds pretty good lol as do almost all sweets but not gonna go there.

The best is a DVD called "Down There for Women" http://alignedandwell.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=6&flypage=flypage.tpl&pop=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

Here is a good article explaining the premise http://sweetsprouts.wordpress.com/2010/06/24/keeping-your-body-in-balance-squats-and-pelvic-floor-strength/
After my daughter I had some mild bladder leakage. Part of it was due to my posture (tucking in my pelvis) and part was from her birth (pushing in the lithotomy position with a full bladder on an epidural, resulting in partial bladder prolaps). I did kegals and nothing got better. Once I started working on my lower body, did it stop. Later I found out why...

My son was 1 lb 3 oz larger with a much larger head and I didn't have any bladder issues (of course my birth was complete different and my posture was MUCH better).

Lunges, including walking lunges, are also really good for pelvic floor strength.  I've been obsessively doing both for the past month or so (though I still sneeze-peed earlier today... Argh!).  I've also had some crazy SI joint issues, which are really ticking me off.

Anyone else having insanely dry skin combined with breakouts?  I had to do a honey/brown sugar scrub today to slough it all off and then coat my entire face in Aquaphor.  My lips are horribly chapped, despite using my natural chapstick every four seconds.

Veritas - so sorry your m/s is still terrible!  I hope you find some relief soon.  You're taking something for it, right?

Oh Boots - your posts are so funny, sadly mostly because there's always something horrible happening to you.  So sorry you're not feeling well.  Can you do sinus irrigation?  I sneeze-peed today (see above) and man did I feel attractive.  Add to that my Elephant Man face and I am just some hot stuff.

Looking good, ladies!  Sheepish.gif

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!  LOL  Arent we a mess?  I'm SUPER DUPER glad I get to come over here and complain.  Seriously.  I'm not a big complainer, so in previous pregnancies I would write in my journal and that was about it.  So this is fun to me!  LOL

New symptom...TMI...ever since I was constipated, it hurts to go potty. Like I might have cut or tore something, you know where?  And it bleeds a little every time I go. I keep hoping if I can go about 2-3 days between going then it will heal.  Gross, I know. I've just never experienced this before.

I'm actually at that point where I'm not super tired and I feel good and it's like...am I sure I'm pregnant?  But then I can't finish three bites of a yogurt and I'm reminded that I am.  I LOVE yogurt. UGH.

BUT I've found a friend in salad and have been having romaine lettuce, cukes and carrots with almost every meal.

Intime0, I can't eat yogurt anymore either.  Immediately comes up.  But I've also found salad to be something I can eat.  Just not very much.

LilyTiger, I have a scrip for Zofran, but I try not to take it on the weekend since I had the terrible awful constipation experience.

Where is this pregnancy glow everyone talks about?  I feel like I have a slime or something else completely gross.  3 more weeks....then maybe the glow comes :D

On a cute note (not me, my cat) everytime I wake up in the middle of the night to throw up nothing, my cat comes in and lays next to me.

migraine...migraine...annoying migraines. I hate them. Thank you for letting me vent.

Awww, what a sweet kitty!  None of my pets seem to notice anything is different with me...
