Not nesting. I look at the mess around my house, the disarray, the lack of organization adn I cringe. It's clean, we have a housekeeper, but it's not neat. But I just dont have the energy to clean it.  hoping I will catch up with you ladies soon.

Sorry, I.didn't know my phone posted it 5 times!

I have that issue too. My house isn't clean now (I want a house keeper), but when it is my piles and clutter distract from the rest of the house. The little energy I have is spent just trying to maintain.

My son turns 2 on Saturday. I don't want company with the clutter! We'll see what I can get done today. Tomorrow will be so crazy (LLL and prenatal) that nothing will get done greensad.gif Feel so useless!

ah.... I totally understand the angels singing thing now that I've been on Zofran for two days. I still feel horribly guilty about taking it.. but I feel soooooo much better. I can actually do some work at work today.

I'm not nesting at all - but I found a great deal on cloth diapers the other day - they should be arriving tomorrow.. and I think that will spark a MAJOR "time to buy more baby stuff" mode for me.

just as I'm getting over my cold, I get a nasty bought of M/S back. I give up.

Boots - that was me... I was feeling great week 11 - then I had that bladder infection - took those antibiotics, felt icky again and then BAM - week 13 it was worse than before... HENCE my new BFF Zofran. Maybe the two of you would like to get acquainted. lol

Oh, Boots!  I hope you're feeling better soon.  I am feeling pretty lousy with M/S today as well, after  a day of feeling wonderful yesterday. I wish I could figure out what triggered the sickness...although it's probably not something I can control.  Just taking it one day at a time!

Thebyr - yes, I feel like you do - a bit nervous but dependent on taking it to survive this pregnancy. I just wish there has been more research. It's been used for years and is considered safe but it needs clinical trials - I feel like I should do one when I'm back on my feet!

I am desperately wanting some nesting energy. I have to get it soon because we are going to be moving late spring and I have a ton of work to do to declutter the house / fix it up / get ready for packing. Right now, though, I am still lacking in motivation. I feel like taking care of my daughter is doing the basic necessities (laundry, cooking) is all I can handle right now.

I spoke with my boss yesterday and suggested we start the process of looking for my replacement. A huge, scary conversation that actually went quite well. She was understanding and accommodating. I have been so stressed about the undone work (I am leading a very long study in maternal health) that I think it has compounded the other anxieties of pregnancy and my upcoming move. I really should be working right to the bitter end, since we need the $, but I need to start disentangling myself to have some head space for the other stuff.

Sorry - I guess this shouldn't really be in Signs and Symptoms - but that can be a broad topic, no?!

I seem to be done with m/s but my gag reflex keeps getting stronger. I will have a bite of food in my mouth and will NOT want to swallow it - nothing to do with my stomach, I just suddenly HATE the taste or texture. So far, I've been able to choke everything down (followed by lots of water to keep it down) but today I was tempted to spit it back out. I am getting better at telling when that feeling is coming so I can just stop eating.

I've also been having nasty headaches - it feels like my head is being squeezed and might explode. I'm guessing this is from increased blood volume? I broke down and took tylenol today so I could make it through the workday. Hopefully my body will adjust soon.

And I've had some twingey pains mostly on my right side, kind of like ovulation/ovary/cyst pain (the ultrasound tech said she couldn't see any cysts at the u/s on Monday). I'd think it was round ligament pain, but it happens when I'm just sitting there? It could also just be gas orngtongue.gif

I know exactly what you mean about the gag reflex and not wanting to swallow.  I eat a lot slower these days and take small bites.  I find small bites don't trigger the gagging as easily, and they're easier to spit out if necessary.

Yesterday evening I actually triggered my gag reflex brushing my teeth.  I wound up actually throwing up.  Blech, I was so annoyed.

I had the throat block thing when I had Cecilia for about 4 or 5 weeks postpartum. I lost a lot of weight! I did a lot of smoothies and protein shakes because drinking something always worked better. I wonder if you'll see it come back postpartum too.

boots- me too. I got a cold which now has turned into a lovely UTI..

I'm having the gag reflex problem too.  I frequently have to just sit there with a mouthful of food and wait for a bit until I can swallow.  Then I usually just hand my plate over to my husband.  He knows that means "I'm done"!

I've found that little fruit cups and individual applesauce servings are great to have in the office.  The serving size is really small, so I don't feel like I'm making a big commitment to each a bunch of food, and they can sit in my drawer for who know's how long without going bad so there's no pressure to eat them immediately (I'm feeling so guilty about so much produce going to waste when I suddenly don't like it anymore).  And since I buy the applesauce without sugar and get the fruit that's in fruit juice, not syrup, they're pretty healthy as well.

Just found out that Zofran is severely constipating - warning! Thebyr! Apparently you are supposed to start a stool softener the same day you start softener. Thanks for letting me know that, doc.

Today I have a bit of that gag reflex thing coupled with bloat and discomfort of constipation. I like the fruit cup and applesauce idea - thanks for that.

ok the no gas?

I lied.

the last two days I have had horrible horrible gas regardless of if or when or what I eat.. it starts mid day and goes until bed.

Yeah, my doc didn't let me know either.  One of the worst. experiences. ever.

Just when I thought I had already had every symptom ... I go and create one that is also miserable.

My skin is so dry my lips and face are cracking and I have these horrible scratches on my legs from dry skin itching at night.  I bought myself some coconut oil and some cocoa butter at the co-op, and that seems to be helping.  The coconut oil is amazing, for what it's worth.  I've used it on my face and it soaks right in.  The cocoa butter I'll probably just throw out. It's the 100% stuff so it's hard as a rock until you microwave it and then it smells like burnt chocolate chips.  Gross.  But, I am now officially obsessed with coconut oil, so that was a good find.

Ok, well after a google search I've just discovered that I have the grossest pregnancy symptom I've never heard of before.  I think what I have is papular dermatitis of pregnancy, though there are a couple different names for horrible skin problems that arise in pregnancy.  I thought the scratches and so on on my legs were just from really dry skin, but today they are looking much more like bug bites or something (to the point where I actually wondered if we could have fleas).  They are spreading up my leg, and apparently this is a horrible pregnancy symptom that I'll probably have for the duration of the stupid pregnancy.  I'm e-mailing my doc tomorrow, but what the hell!  The worst is that the "bites" itch and hurt.  One part of my leg is actually swelling.  Ugh.  This will make dress season (and swimming suit season) just wonderful.

OH $&*#^&^@ so that is what is on my arm...! I thought it was a reaction to the washing soap here at the apartment we are staying in this month.. I had it really bad on one part of my forearm and then a little on my inner thigh and I was SURE it was the soap but after googling it.. it appears to be exactly that..  argh!

Thanks for the post, at least now I know I dont have flea/bed bugs/soap reactions

ithappened, I thought mine was an allergic reaction to my friend's detergent (since she gave me some maternity pants), but it's definitely not.  Make sure you talk to a doctor since it's linked to hormonal imbalances and can, apparently, lead to increased chance of fetal death.  Who the hell knew?  I was up all night thinking about killer rashes.  I'm sure it's fine, but I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday just to feel a little better.  It's also just gross because my whole left shin looks like I have chicken pox or something.  There are also some handsome looking pustules.  I can't even believe this is a real pregnancy thing.
