Signs and symptoms - Page 48

I get really sore hips at night too. I have to regularly roll over because the bottom one always starts to hurt after a while. But it hurts on the outside of my thigh, or kind of below my butt. My mom reminded me that I'm "so much heavier now, so it's putting extra stress on your body." Thanks for the reminder, Mom. eyesroll.gif

I went swimming for the first time yesterday. It felt great, but it was the weirdest feeling getting out of the water. I was in the water for about an hour, and then when I got out, I was shocked at how heavy I suddenly felt. It was bizarre. I had to walk around for a few minutes so that my mind and body could readjust to my weight.

Also, I seem to have lost my appetite. I can still eat, but nothing is that appealing. Except for fruit. Peaches... love.gif

That exact same thing happened to my friend & I after aqua aerobics Monday night.  It doesn't usually happen, but both of us noticed feeling extremely heavy right out of the pool.  And she's not pregnant, either!  It was really weird.

yeah the weight in the pool vs out is crazy right...? I also sometimes get slight vertigo after swimming laps, i think its the water in my ears because its not consistent..

I am getting so sloooooow though now.. really walking very far is hard and carrying stuff up to our apartment sucks, I feel like I have a giant bowling ball between my legs, I am trying to swim laps every day for at least 30 minutes because I found it helps SO much with the swelling and pain in my legs.. but this twin pregnancy is so different then my singleton pregnancy- I was able to run and ski pretty much until the day I gave birth and this pregnancy I am like a sack of lard.. I just don't want to move unless I have too.. (or I'm in water).

oh- I also cannot stop eating frozen bananas- I literally eat 10-14 a week right now. its insane.

Well Baby has moved down quite a bit this past week and the only way that I can sit these days is on a yoga ball, rocking my hips around in circles to stay comfortable.  Rolling over in bed feels quite intense as this 30lb bowling bowl belly flops from side to side w/me.  And when I'm up for even the shortest amount of time (like to fix something to eat, etc) I can ONLY stand while swaying side to side - otherwise my back, belly, bladder, legs, and feet are on fire!  It is impossible to just stand still for any amount of time....so I put on some house music and am having a dance party in my kitchen (by myself)..... the neighbors must love this....

Does anyone else feel like they're about to get their period?  I feel crampy and have lots of uterine pressure and my digestion feels the way it does when I'm about to get my period (like I have to go a lot but not much comes out... sorry about the gross details).  I'm wondering if I'm going to have this feeling for the next month or whether it's something that comes and goes.  It's been pretty consistent the past few days.

Otherwise, my symptoms are ankle swelling (pretty much constant now), belly pains (probably round ligament), and much more discomfort moving around.  Flipping over in bed is like a hilarious Free Willy impersonation.

I definitely feel you on the Free Willy impersonation.  Rolling over is just ridiculous.

I feel like a rotisserie chicken due to the frequency of me rolling from one side to the other.

I make a point not to roll over unless I have to.  If I change positions in the night I have to get up to pee.  And getting up Hurts So Bad.  And once I stand up, it feels like two gallons of liquid just fall into my bladder and suddenly it's an emergency.

It feels like there's a bowling ball up my vag, pardon the imagery.  Yeesh.

There is just so much in this exchange that hits home!

Free willy Impersonations, changing sides, peeing becoming an emergency..lol. So many things...

Ithappened totally feel you on the bananas..but mine is watermelon. I could eat one everyday. Dh says I am single handedly keeping the watermelon farmers in work..lol.

My need to pee has changed in the past week or so.  I had to pee a lot before, due to all the water I was drinking, but now I totally get that sudden sensation of a bowling ball dropping and suddenly OH MY GOD WHERE IS THE BATHROOM.  That's definitely new!

Anyone else's baby dropped?  Mine has, so thankfully, no more heartburn, but whoa, when I've got to pee, I've got to pee - like so many of you!  Yeesh!

And yes, it all Free Willy flopping around at night here - I'm constantly shifting from side to side... and then going potty - no more nice, long, uninterrupted nights of sleep :).

I'm also much more touchy emotionally.  The other night I was stressing about our move while getting a bowl of cereal.  My husband came in to the kitchen while brushing his teeth just to be with me (read: he was being nice), and I said, "Why are you by me right now?"  Meanest wife EVER.  It's really out of character... so much so that my husband (thankfully) knew I was under the influence of raging pregnancy hormones and forgave my insanity.  Jeesh!

Hahaha that is me too! He just wants to rub my shoulders but I'll accidentally snap and tell him he's being too rough. Or he'll ask me what I want to drink with dinner, I'll give him a blank look then he starts listing off options which just totally frazzles me!
Okay I think its mostly the choices/decision-making. FIL was asking me which kind of pizza I want before I even had a chance to look at them and then he started listing off which toppings were on which and I almost ran from the room! Totally overwhelmed LOL

I'm definitely feeling you on the decision making and the emotions! I feel like I'm constantly on the verge of breaking into tears. And navigating while we drive around checking out houses is torture! DH likes to just drive around until I pull up directions rather than just park and wait until we know where we're going (read:impatient), which results in us driving in circles from time to time. Grrrr... On the spot directions are not my forte, esp w this baby consuming the better part of my deductive reasoning abilities. thumbsuck.gif

I have absolutely no hand-eye coordination, balance or depth perception anymore. I think I've broken something every other day and banged my head on numerous things. You'd think I'd have exceptional depth perception and balance in order to make sure I don't fall and hurt this baby. :) I've also been much more emotional lately (on the drop of a dime) and my insomnia is starting to kick in. I've slept so well up to this point! Now I'm either up from 3:30 am - 5:30 am or wide awake at 6am. I was totally hoping that I'd be able to skip the insomnia part, but I guess it's just part of the "preparing you for baby" process.

Sallyrae, yeah, what is up with that sleep schedule?  I'm up from 3-5 or so and if not that then I'm up at 6.  I have nights of almost continual sleep, but the insomnia hits most other nights.  It doesn't seem fair, since I feel like I'll be adapting pretty quickly to a screwy schedule soon... No need to torture me with it before it's absolutely necessary.

And NewMum (I think it was you), my thirst is ridiculous.  I've been drinking water non-stop for the last week.  Yesterday I drank water and tea all day (so, not at all dehydrated) and we went to the lake for dinner.  The ice cream place and the little diner place we ate would only give me little piddling styrofoam cups of water and by the time we got home I was so thirsty I drank two full 32 oz waterbottles and still didn't have to pee for like an hour.  Where is all this water going?

I also hear you ladies on the bowling ball.  Walking feels like I've got something stuck in my pelvis.  Yuck.

I'm experiencing the same thing with sleeping. I've been mostly comfortable sleeping--up until the last week or so. Suddenly I feel so uncomfortable, and I'm constantly rolling over like a beached whale, waking up at 3 a.m. and having trouble getting back to sleep... ugh.

And the thirst too. I was starting to get worried about how much water I've been guzzling lately, so I feel a little better knowing that others are experiencing it too.

Other than that, I mostly feel good. Heh. eyesroll.gif

Still nooooooo sleep here for me - but that's been going on for months now.  I end up having anxiety at "bed time" now, because I know it's just a futile attempt tossing, turning and getting up every hour.  At least I can sleep in late every morning.  I just hate how when I get up for the day, my body feels just as achy and tired as it ended the day before.....

Is anyone else feeling lightheaded - esp. when getting up or moving quickly?  I'm seeing stars half the time when I stand up from sitting, or get up to move around.  I'm guessing that it could be my low BP (it always measures low at my checkups).  Or low iron?  Doctor said my iron was "borderline low" and I started taking Floradix a couple of weeks ago, but haven't noticed any improvement....

Yes! If I bend over and then stand up, I see little metallic stars. Any sort of sudden movement seems to trigger them - it's super frustrating! I also have low iron and low bp. The last time I checked, my bp was 93/60 (I checked earlier this week) and my iron was 9.5 (checked in the last month or so).

I'm sleeping on the couch - our bed is too firm and makes my hips/tailbone HURT - and I end up sleeping in two shifts usually (around 10pm-2am and 3am-6am) with a break in between where I'll wake up and talk to my partner (he's on a 2nd shift schedule so he's usually watching tv in the room til I send him away) and pee a couple times, etc. It's kind of weird but it's been working out ok. And I think it's helping to prepare me for the kind of sleep I may be getting with a newborn.
