Sorry to burden you guys with this, but I am embarrassed to talk about it with anyone in real life. When I went to the bathroom this morning, I thought I was bleeding, and was only somewhat relieved to find that it wasn't coming from the expected place. Rather, it was coming from behind. I don't have hemorrhoids and have not been constipated lately, except maybe very mildly yesterday. What to Expect When You're Expecting said that this kind of bleeding was common, but is usually related to hemorrhoids or fissures, which would be painful (and I'm having no pain). It said that it didn't affect the baby at all. I'm about two and a half months pregnant.

I really, really don't feel like going to the doctor for a rectal exam, since I feel fine, but am I being irresponsible not to? If I have to go to the doctor, should I go to my primary care physician, the fertility doctor who just gave me the okay to stop coming, or the midwives I have my first appointment with this coming Friday?
