Holiday gift or tip for therapist???

I've been seeing a therapist weekly for 10 months now and I was wondering what the protocol was for a holiday "tip" or gift card or something for a therapist. I guess the reason it comes to mind is that she has been seeing me at a substantial discount since my insurance ran out and I know I will be getting a bonus from work. Is it weird, awkward, or common? I also know her enough that I could definitely pick out something nice for her.

Would love to hear from people who have been seeing someone regularly. Thanks!!

Normally I'd say there no need to tip a healthcare professional, but the discounted sessions are something that might be worth thanking her for. I'd keep it simple - maybe a nice travel mug and a good coffee, or a small denomination gift card (to a coffee shop or something) along with a nicely written Christmas card expressing your thanks?
