New Chat Thread!!

Nm going on here, just lots of sleepless nights and the same old toddler issues.

I'm packing away the 3-6 and 6 month clothes today.  I pulled out some 12 mo sleepers to get ahead of the game, and they have treads on the feet.  I had to laugh.  He's 3 MONTHS OLD.  Geez.  He's really only wearing 9 month size, so these are a little big, but still.  Geez kid.

I'm still unpacking, after having my parents to stay for 16 days.

It feels like I've been away from here for ever. DS1 is finally walking and DS2 has become quite alert and nosy.

It was great to spend time with my parents, but having them stay just a week after moving meant I didn't get the unpacking finished. I love them, but they were exhausting. I'm an introvert and got NO alone time the whole time they were here. Today is the first real normal day since we moved into this house. But I was glad my mum got to witness DS1 learning to walk. DS1 has also gone to a one nap a day routine and I'm definitely missing him having 2 naps.

Right now my goal is just to get unpacked and organized by Christmas.

As for DS2, he is sleeping through the night which I'm not totally happy with as I wake up needing to feed and he keeps right on sleeping. He has also outgrown the 3-6 months clothes already and he isn't even 12 weeks yet. He does seem to have my temperament though and can pitch a huge fit if he doesn't get what he wants when he wants. Always fun when both boys decide they need my undivided attention at the same time.

The best thing to happen over the last couple of weeks was that my brother sent over money for Christmas that allowed me to buy a double jogger, so now I can get out walking with the boys.

How is everyone else doing now we're in the 3-4 month range (or almost)?

We're doing really well! I'm getting stubborn back at Charlie so he's having to get over it and nurse my left side. I got nervous about the supply on that side with him refusing it - he actually cries about it sometimes. Sheesh. But. Better!

He slept better last night. Less waking up for eating - I actually feel not-tired, so that's nice!

We weighed him last night and he's 19lbs.  At 3.5 months. In most clothes, he's in 12 months. Jammies tend to run bigger in sizes, so he can still fit in some 9m and he's got overalls that are 6/9m that fit - they're giant for their size, though. And adjustable. It's mostly his torso outgrowing the world.

And yes, we have the jammies with the scuffy feet, too! Haha!

It feels like he's getting closer to talking lately. He tells us clearly when he wants up, bounced, to eat and choses his people. All with body movements, but they're consistent. He also can repeat sounds when he's in the mood. When he gets upset, he calms down to talking, too. I explain in words all the steps that led to the fit and he relaxes. It's sweet. If he's tired, he wants rocked and sang to. If he's frustrated, he wants talked to.

He's trying very hard to roll over. He can easily go from back to side, but he can't tip over. He strains and kicks, no good. He needs to move his arm out of the way. If I move it, he tip right over and gets all happy. Happy! On his belly! Ha! :)

Sweet baby :) We're trying to teach him to pat at his diaper when it needs changed. Dusty said he sometimes does it. That would be fun :)

Ada is fitting in some 6-9 month clothes. lol.gif  Of course, it depends on the brand. Right now she's wearing 0-3 month outfit from Old Navy (but it's a bit small).

We spent yesterday sorting clothes: too small for Ada... donate or sell; too small for Cady... hold for Ada; too small for Grace... donate or sell; too small for Mama... cry a little & put in a box until I can get rid of the baby weight.

I know, right? I just found a 3-6 thing in his drawer. Riiiight. I just have a big black trash bag in my room and when I grab something unlikely or think of it, I just add it to the bag. It's very full and has all the sizes that he's been :)

9 months already?!  wholly smokes!  And I thought Millie was big in her just-barely 6 month size!  wow!!!

holy cow! We're slowly moving into 3-6 mo here, but plenty of 3mo still fit. doc says it's cause hubby and I are both shorter.

Cross your fingers ladies! My husband had an informal job interview today. He's not looking, but he's not not looking either. winky.gif That said, I've been unhappy with his current employer since day one. Just one example... we pay $1100 per month for insurance. irked.gif

I'm hoping something good comes of it. The money is better and the company is large and stable. thumb.gif

Janie, here's hoping your DH gets the new job! goodvibes.gif

As for clothing sizes, we are still in the 3-6 and 6-9 month onsies, but I need to go out an get some 9 or 12 month PJs to fit his big diaper butt. I've been putting 3 inserts into the Bumgenius diapers and can't button the crotch part of the PJs. Also, I need to get some more socks. Looks like River has his Papa's hobbit feet.

A few weeks ago I lamented on here about how DH can't leave the house with DS alone yet. Well, today they went to the greenhouse where DH has some of his research plants and stayed for 2 hours! I'm so proud of them and DH sees a whole new world opening up to him now that he isn't completely tethered to the house all day. I love hearing about their adventures while I'm sitting at my boring desk at work.  Here's a pic of River chillin in the greenhouse this morning. And yes, that's a beer coozie on the bottle... DH was super proud when he started using this to keep the bottle warm. :)

Aww! So sweet, TIna! Boy bonding time - beer cozies are important for those :D

Charlie cracked me up this morning. We've been working on his boob pickiness and he's doing well. The left boob is starting to feel a bit less like an empty bag and the right is calming down from it's crazy engorged state. He was napping on my shoulder and started to do the crawl down to a boob. He is very stubborn and crawled to the right one. So I stuck him at the left. And man. It's like he's two. He sees the food that is NOT his favorite so he tried to sleep. Couldn't do that, he was hungry, so he started picking at it and poking it to see if it might attack him and get him out of this mess. It stayed a boob, so he looked cranky and sucked a bit and pulled away a few times. Then sucked enough to get milk and coughed a bunch and looked cranky. Then fussed a bit. Then sighed and ate until he fell asleep.

It's official. My left boob is full of mushy canned green beans or something.

Maybe you could hide your left boob in something yummy, like pizza and he won't notice?

Or you could make it into a game... here comes the airplane, open up the hanger!

good luck vibes to DH Janie!

Tina, looks like your DH is starting to get the swing of things!

Becky-- Lewie (my DS) used to pick favorite sides.. he went on a left boob strike at about 9 mos old for what seemed like days.  it was agony!

Check out these shoes I saw on etsy:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/BusterBooKids  so stinking cute!!!

I guess I have a peanut baby compared to everyone else . He's in 3-6 months- which also have treads on the feet at times!!!!  I am also lying there in pain when DS decides he's a big boy and sleeps through the night- today I didnt leak and wonder if my pm supply is diminishing :(  I feel he's slowly getting better about going out and not being super fussy all the time.  Short trips to stores are doable - i just book it out when he stats to get that grimace that means wailing is about to begin.

So, no responses on my nap question- am i really the only one with a baby who doesnt nap?  The pediatrician said leave him in a dark room and see what happens- yeah , right!!  I think i KNOW what would happen.  Thanks anyways

Yesterday while doing some unpacking I sorted through the baby clothes. I put them in boxes for each size, and Seth has already outgrown 3 boxes. He is now only 2 sizes behind Aiden, and catching up quickly. He won't even fit in the cute Christmas clothes Aiden had last year, so I'm going to have to buy both of them a Christmas outfit instead of just Aiden. It does seem a bit unreal that Seth is in 9 month clothes already and he is only just 12 weeks today. Aiden was always in the size that corresponded to his age so this is different this time. Some of the clothes haven't even been worn by Seth before he has gotten too big to wear them. I know it won't be too long until the boys are wearing the same size clothes.

I have no idea what Seth's weight is right now, as he hasn't been weighed since he was 6 weeks old. He is definitely too heavy to carry in his bucket seat, so this weekend we are planning on fitting the convertible seat into the car, then we'll be putting the bucket seat away for the next baby. It seems like there is a lot of stuff that is already being put away for the next baby.

Been busy around here. DH lost his job so we're both looking and trying to move an hr away into town since we have class 4 or 5 days a week starting next week.  (School is an hour away)

Liam is fitting loosely into 12 mo stuff, so I'm sure 9mo would fit him better, but since he's growing so fast we're just sticking with the 12 mo since is isn't too big on him.

I'll try to pop by more often, but I've been so stressed about money (we had about 2k and that's going down between medical bills and food, gas, utilities, etc.). I don't want to go back to work, but I'm more likely to get something, as well as a better paying job than my hubby, sadly.

nad1, Sofie is  still wearing 3 mo clothing. Last two weeks we got all the newborn stuff packed away - she sprouted i think. But you are not alone in having a peanut baby.

in terms of naps, there was a while where she would not nap longer than 15-20 mins. Are you swaddling? Also, the dark room helps if you are also rocking her in your arms. THat is DH's sure to work recipe for putting her to sleep (tricky tho since he only does is when she is obviously sleepy).

Kylaskye, I hope you will find a place to your liking and make the move so you are closer to school. I am sorry about the job situation, but unfortunately that is the times we live in these days (big sigh)...

Anton's in 3-6 month clothing now.  Only problem is, he is so skinny that pants fall off him.  So I either have to put him in those one-piece coverall things, or 0-3 month size pants (which are too short, but fit him in the waist).

My little munchkin is the same way! I'm super short at 5 ft, DH is taller at 5'11. According to the growth charts, Mags is a bit smaller than "average".
