Yayyyy!  Finally, after many requests, Sunflower Farm is kicking off a home-school program.
Starts January, 2012.  Limited enrollment.
 
WHAT: Agricultural-based, enrichment program designed for HOMESCHOOL kids
WHEN: Choose the Monday OR Thursday class
TIME: 1:00 to 4:00
DATE for SESSION: 10-weeks;  January 16 through March 22
WHERE:  Sunflower Farm
AGES: 5 to 9; break into groups, based on age
COST: $350 for 10-week session

DESCRIPTION: This class will provide a broad overview of everyday farm lifestyle and sustainable living. There will be a heavy emphasis on seasonally appropriate, small-scale gardening and organic food production. We will actively participate in the everyday routines of a working farm, including the care and feeding of animals, big and small. Baking, basic home-building construction, soap-making, bee-keeping/honey, and spinning wool are just a few topics of interest.  In addition, we will explore our creativity with art made from recycled and found nature objects. Occasional experts from the community will be invited as our guests to share their expertise on these trades. And of course, we will always make time to incorporate good, old-fashioned play.
