i'm a first time mom going for a homebirth and would love to hear birth stories of first baby home birthers- seems like most home birthers have other kids, so would love to hear from those first time mamas!

I had a UC for my first (twins!), but a homebirth nonetheless!  Here's my story:

Thank you!  Despite that, she has been wonderful, always helping me out whenever she can and whenever I need it.  I regret not being able to share my births with her (I always thought it would be a bonding thing for us, particularly because we have both birthed identical twins. :] ), but at least she's a wonderful grandma. :)

My daughter was born at home in October...she's our first child. My labor was straightforward and relatively quick, for a first timer (12 hrs). I'm working on getting my birth story down on paper now, but there are definitely first timer homebirth success stories out there! Best of luck to you.

thank you! it is always nice to hear first home birth stories - there is just no way to know how you labor if you've never done it before! :)

We had our first at home and it was a wonderful experience.  My labor was long (26 hours), but straightforward.  I had a midwife, her assistant, my husband, and a good friend--a wonderful support team.  We are planning our second home birth when our second is due in March.  Hope that helps!

My first was a successful homebirth, 24 hours practically to the dot, 1.5 hours of pushing, baby born with nuchal hands and cord. She was 8 lbs 11 oz but no tears on me thank goodness. Present were a CNM, her assistant, and my husband. Never once during labor or pushing did I think to go the hospital or think I needed relief from the pain. It did hurt (even when showering and using the birthing tub) but I knew it was natural pain and was not worried. My water didn't break until it was time to push so there was no mess either. My daughter was perfectly healthy and I would not have traded our experience for the world. Now I'm wresting with the decision to birth my twins at home or not. If it was another singleton I would completely do the homebirth route again!

Good luck with your birth as well!!
