It's funny how so many of us who are familiar with autism, or have autism already know this.  Then some people have to write articles about it like it's a new idea.  But then it bothers me that the authors might be approaching the topic from a position that assumes autism does make a person 'less'.  There is still a lot of work to be done in public awareness/ public opinion.

There is. It's true. Articles like this are a starting point, though. Just think about how little everyone knew just 10 years ago. The perception *is* changing, and for the better. At least that's what I like to believe.

It is a starting point.  I'd rather read articles like this than articles like 'vaccines cause autism'.
