Conception to Birth, visualized (VERY interesting to me!)

It's a ted talk (if you didn't get it from the link lol) but in it they go over how quickly our babies are developing right NOW. For example, I am 8 weeks as of today, my baby is 42 days old. (simply take 2 weeks off your length of pregnancy and multiply what week you are in by 7 and add how many days you are to it, if you want an idea of where in this video your little one is, eg: I'm 8w0d, 8-2=6, 6x7 is 42 +0 is still 42)

Wadsworth constant applies if you want to go straight to the growth video and not listen to the scientist (skip about 1/3 of the way in)

My favorite snippet: if our babies continued to grow at the rate they are growing at now, in 9 months they would weigh 1.5 tons.

That was amazing!  I also find that stuff very interesting.  When I feel so tired lately, I remind myself how much work - actual work - is going on inside & feel like the preggo symptoms are worth it.

Wow, that made me tear up, especially at the end with the bit about the woman's body.

I love this one too.

I saw that one a few weeks ago. It is so amazingly beautiful what our bodies are doing right now!

My husband's been trying to get me to watch that for weeks, but I was putting it off.  I guess this is the kick I needed!  Off to watch.

Wow simply amazing!

Beautiful piece. I was surprised when it initially went from 12 weeks to 8 months, but he seems to make up for that later. I also agree with BigMamaBear that it's great he acknowledged how amazing the woman's body is too :-).

That was cool! I can't help but wonder if birth is scary for the baby. The force of contractions and getting pushed through a tiny opening would scare me as an adult!

I've heard, though I don't know if it is a 100% fact, that the squeezing out actually shuts down all but the basic functions of their brain so they basically black out through it.

Really? I've never heard that before! Do you mean they are unconscious?

Yes. They can still move (reflexes) and have all the basic functions but according to whereever i heard this, they aren't actually experiencing pain because they are not conscious of what is going on at the moment.
