Vegan friendly sweets

Thread Starter

So each year at Christmas I make a bunch of sweets.  I usually wrap them in cello and ribbon and give them as gifts to the adults in our lives (we only buy for kids).  Friends, neighbours, distant rellies that we only see rarely.  It's my little tradition.

This year I'd like to do them all vegan, if I can.  I'm the only one, everyone else I know is carnivorous (lol), but I would like to make things that make them realise that you can be animal free, and still eat delicious treats!!

In the past, I've done things like: rocky road, white christmas, rumballs, mars bar slice, etc.  I like things that can be little individual portions, not like cakes or tarts.

I just wondered if anyone had any recipes that they could suggest, or even ways to make vegan spin offs of my usual recipes?  I'd really like recipes that have actually been tried and tested.  I know I could just google it, but I'd rather hear it from the horse's mouth!

Look at www.elanaspantry.com. Everything of hers that I've tried has been amazing. She uses eggs in some recipes but not others. Definitely a must try experience.

You might want to check out http://www.theppk.com/recipes/ it's the site/blog for the gal who wrote Veganomicon, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar, and a few other vegan cookbooks.  I think she might have some stuff that will fit the bill... everything I've made from one of her recipes has come out great!
