Thread Starter

This thread is for members of the ONE thread from the Trying to Conceive forum. Some of you have started similar threads in the DDCs but this is an all-inclusive, cross-DDC thread. We have all made connections and friendships with ladies who got BFPs before or after us so this can be a central thread for us to catch up and for those on the other side of the One thread to keep up with us!

In bold, please tell me: Name, Due Date, how long it took you to conceive and what you went through to conceive, what "number" child this will be, and anything else you would like to add.

Hello, ladies.

As an attempt to not SUCK at this thread anymore, I went ahead and made the December thread (I hope that was okay!!!).

If anyone needs anything changed/added, please let me know.

AFM: Two weeks left of my maternity leave. As much as I love being home, I am so, so, so ready to go back to work. It is not in my blood to be a SAHM. I have cabin fever like crazy and going to school isn't enough for me. I need grown up time, LOL. I also need a paycheck. I feel bad for my poor DH, who's working his butt off to make up for my lack of income.

Conner Dean is 4w3d old today. One month. =) He started staying awake more, which kind of sucks, but it's also nice to be able to interact with him a little bit. He's also seeing a lot better. It's so funny watching him try to focus. He goes cross eyed for a second, LOL.

We go see the specialist about his kidneys on December 19th. The appt. is 3 hours away. That kind of annoys me because the doctor does come to my city once a month, but whatever. O_o

That's about it. Not TTC or being pregnant makes you kind of lame when you're on a pregnancy forum. LMAO

And, as always, here's another shlew of pictures for you ladies. =D

MEETING HIS UNCLE (MY LITTLE BROTHER) FOR THE FIRST TIME. My brother was on a 10-day predeployment leave. I'm so glad he got to meet Conner before he was deployed to Afghanistan. He's gone until June/July. =(

Awwww, Conner just gets cuter and cuter, doesn't he? Thanks for starting the new thread.

I think I might be the next one up in here? I'm due on the 11th! My other babies were early, but I need to NOT go into labour because they are both home sick today, and we have 2 important appointments and DH's Christmas party for work tomorrow. The kids are watching Pinochio and slumming on the couches, and I might go take a nap. DH got the job he applied for at work... full-time hours and benefits, yay!!

Thanks for the new thread! Conner is adorable!

Mummoth: Hopefully you won't go into labor for another week with the sick kids and holiday party coming up. Congrats on DH getting the job!

We just got home from a 8 day trip to Seattle. It was fun and DS handled the flights like a little champ but it's so nice to be home again. Looking forward to some down time now before the Christmas madness begins.

TTCCOC, damn girl, I'm 8 hours late starting the December thread and you're on it.  You do need to go back to work orngtongue.gif  Conner does continue to get cuter and cuter.

mummoth, hold on a little while longer, baby mummoth!  Just a few days or so...are you feeling laborish?

belacmsage, I'm impressed that you will get any downtime between now and Christmas craziness.  I feel like our Christmas craziness starts as soon as I put away the Thanksgiving leftovers.

scowgirl, reelala, taurustheta how you guys doing?

Welcome, thebyr!

AFM, I'm 13 weeks and I'm getting really anxious to feel the first fluttery movements so I can be reassured that something is happening in there.  I've been about the same level of bloated/showing for the past 4 weeks so I'm not even feeling like I'm progressing.  We did hear a heartbeat at 11 weeks but I'm still nervous.  I'm so ridiculous.

This is me being grammatically anal, however: Please change we are waiting until Dec. 8 to find out whether there's 1 or 2 to "to find out whether we have 1 or 2". I may have been the one that wrote it wrong, but it's bugging me. LOL.

It's weird, I seem to have false labour when I don't drink ginger tea or take my EPO. I'll be the most pregnant I've ever been on Sunday night. The kids have seemed fine all afternoon, I just need to get through tomorrow and then it can come anytime. I'm having membranes stripped on Tuesday. I really love the movements, too... I'm going to miss that, I think.

Thanks AndtheStars! I feel just like you do - I'm anxious to see or hear something.

Cute baby TTC!

Mummoth - Are you just hanging out at home until the baby comes? Sounds like you're close.

We're going about life as usual until the baby comes... I wouldn't want to go too far from home but the work supper is 5 minutes down the hill, DH has gaming on Saturday nights and the guys are all coming here instead of him going over the bridge to the other guys house, stuff like that. I really think my body totally back-tracked when the kids got sick, I don't feel close at all today. DD is back at school today and DS is feeling better this afternoon, thank goodness! I've been working hard at keeping the house ready... we're planning a home birth. The kids are going to bake a cake, and I was thinking I might like to put on some chicken stew in early labour so we'll have a good meal once the baby is here. I walk and walk in labour, so working in the kitchen sounds really good to me, but not cleaning it so I want it to be clean already when things start.

AndTheStars- I told you I wasn't bred to be a SAHM, LOL. I need to go back to work SO. BAD. I wish I could be a SAHM. That'd be awesome. I literally sit here all day long and look at everything that needs to be done and do nothing. I'm more productive when I go to school in the mornings and work in the evenings. When I sit around all day, I'm lazyyy. Hence me sitting here updating right now instead of doing the 2398749327423987 loads of laundry calling my name. =D Good thing I have an OCD DH who doesn't let it get too bad before he breaks down and does it himself. LOL Wife fail.

Mummoth- I'm jealous you're having a home birth. I wanted one, but DH thought for our first baby we should do it at the hospital, since it was our first rodeo. Then I got my stupid pre-eclampsia and didn't even get my drug free vaginal birth like I wanted. I ended up with a c-section. I find myself bitter at my body for not doing it's job. I hope my doctor's down with VBACs, otherwise I'm going to have to find a new doctor and I really don't want to. I reallyyy like my doctor.

TTCCoC - Conner is so adorable!

Mummoth - I hope babe decides to wait until your kitchen is clean and you are ready!

AndTheStars - I hope you feel movement soon. And, it's not ridiculous - I was panicked every time I went to my mw that the heartbeat would be gone, even though I had no reason to believe that. Every time we went and heard the heartbeat it was such a relief! So I was a bit of a basket case until I could feel him move regularly. I think it's pretty normal.

Thebyr - welcome!

deborahbgkelly - when do you find out if you have 1 or 2 in there?

TTCCorC~ it sucks when things don't work out how we want them to. I was going to have my first in the hospital right up until the last 6 weeks or so... there were a few stories on the news about a flesh eating virus being passed around at the hospital... that made my mind up to stay home! It's just luck of the draw, maybe you'll have a home birth with your next baby, and maybe I'll have to transfer to the hospital for a c-section with this one (my last baby). It seems like every baby puts us through something... DS took 3 weeks to figure out how to nurse, at first I was having to pump & bottle feed him, and the milk looked like strawberry quik there was so much blood in it... nasty! DD had eczema so bad she looked like a burn victim. I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say, just that it's never perfect I guess, there's always something we wish could have gone differently. It would be good if we could pick what that something will be!

Livingsky~ Oh,t he kitchen's been clean and messed up again already, LOL! It's not a disaster, I'll just gripe if I have to throw 3 plates in the dishwasher before we get started. My expectations are totally reasonable. AGREE WITH ME!

DS started to feel bad again in the afternoon, so I stayed home with him and DH took just DD to the dinner... she was a high maintenance date! She made him walk her each time to the buffet and stand outside the bathroom when she used it, and when they were handing out gifts, he had to escort her up there, too! She isn't shy at all, I think she just wanted to make sure she stayed the centre of his attention, LOL! DS was happy because I let him on Minecraft for nearly 2 hours while I finished the last stupid page of the stupid scrapbook I stupidly thought I'd actually enjoy doing. His fever is gone this morning, I bet the giant bag of candy DH brought back from the party for him cured him! Blobby was so funny this morning when we were laying in bed talking, s/he goes extremely to the side DH's voice is coming from. It feels like s/he's going to crawl away on me, I should get DH to talk to my crotch, maybe Blobby will get the hint!

LivingSky- I find out Thursday! Everyone else-  On another, very exciting note, cousins on DH's side had a baby girl this morning!  No name yet, but perfect timing since we will announce after the ultrasound if all looks good about our news. DH got what he wanted: to wait until after they gave birth to make an announcement to the rest of the family. A few know already.

mummoth, LOL at DH talking you your crotch!  I say do what works!  My DH is pretty quiet.  If he can get away without talking, he will.  I think it's so cute that blobby already is excited to hear your DH.

TTCCOC, I second mummoth that birth and newborness is never what we plan or expect.  I tried for a homebirth and ended up transferring.  Two years down the road, I'm still disappointed (read: slightly traumatized) things didn't work out as planned.  I'm really hoping that a homebirth works out for this one and helps me get over that hump.

deborah, I'm so excited for Thursday!  Welcome, perfectly timed baby girl!

reelala, scowgirl, taurustheta, seriously guys, I don't have time to stalk the DDG's.  What's the news!?

AFM:  I forgot how long pregnancy really is.  I'm 13 weeks and wondering why I haven't given birth yet.

Baby girl Becker now has a name- Francesca Rose Becker! She's gorgeous and the name fits perfectly.

Hi everyone! I'm a OneThread graduate - I got my BFP in August and am due May 8th. (It used to be May 14th, but after a couple ultrasounds it is clear that baby is measuring big and will be born earlier). Just thought I'd stop by, introduce myself, and get to know everyone! :-)

Congrats and welcome MeredithA! AFM- Awful nausea all day yesterday (some vomiting), kept me from getting work done and I may lose a lot of points in my class. Thank goodness I have a really good score right now. On the plus side, just found out another member of my family (Mom's partner's granddaughter) is due in mid-May, so we have a lot of precious gifts in the family on both sides!

MeredithA, Hi!  Good to see you!  Is Janellody hanging out with you in May DDG?  I think that she should stop by here and say hi.  Ahem!

Hi everyone!! Sorry I haven't been posting here lately. I haven't been posting in my DDC either... I just don't feel like I have a lot to report. I still feel basically fine, a little queasy and "funny" about food, but that's it. My skin is still a disaster but that's the story of the last 18 years, basically. I've been on the prometrium 100 mg 2x/day for a few weeks now, and I would say no spotting, but the last couple of times I've inserted the suppository, the applicator comes out with the slightest tinge of pink in the CM that gets stuck to it. I guess I have decided not to worry unless it gets worse--I know slight bleeding of the cervix is normal, and it has never even made it to the TP or my underwear, so I am just keeping an eye on it. The only thing that nags at me a little is the nurse at my midwifery practice lectured me during my phone screen for not telling the other nurse my blood type (though I could swear I did) when I had spotting very early on. She said they might have given me RhoGAM if they had known, but it's never been more than a tiny bit of spotting, so I can't imagine they would actually have done that. Who knows.

OK, obsessing aside, I have my first prenatal visit on Friday. I'm hoping to hear a heartbeat but not holding my breath (I will be 9w3d, and I'm pretty fat, so all in all it seems a bit unlikely). I don't even know if they were planning to try and hear it at the visit. So, I don't really know what to expect, but I guess we'll find out! I also have a first trimester screening scheduled with a genetic counselor for the 23rd of this month, so I guess I will almost certainly have an ultrasound at that time. If that goes well, then we will start telling family and friends. Currently only our parents, my brother and his wife, and our best friends (who are also expecting in May) know. Well, in addition to one of my coworkers who I am close to and consider "low-risk" for telling because she doesn't know any of our friends and family. smile.gif

I also just found out that my brother and sister-in-law are expecting a boy luxlove.gif

I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for the new thread! Conner continues to be adorable... love the photo of him sprawled out on Daddy.

Welcome, Meredith! and congrats on the new addition to the family, Deborah!

My gender ultrasound is next Monday!!  I can hardly wait... It feels like I have waited forever and I just wanna KNOW now!!!  So that is what is up with me.  I am 17 weeks as of yesterday and although my sickness hasn't gona away completely, it is easing up a bit....
