Vivica- Next time you are in town we'll have to grab a coffee or something!

TTCOC- I just want to correct a statement you have on my profile. Two embryos would not be identical twins. The twins came from one of the embryos (the other embryo didn't make it, but I'm sure glad I don't have to give birth to triplets!)

But taken anywhere else (including by doctors when I was in the hospital for kidney stones) my BP was fine. So sometimes you can attribute high BP to situations, rather than because your BP is actually high. If you've got a cuff to take your BP at home, I'd keep track of your BP and bring that information with you to your appointment.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm backing you! Don't let anyone tell you you're unhealthy just because you're overweight. The two are NOT the same thing. Yes, being overweight puts you at higher risk for certain things, but it doesn't mean all or even any of them will happen to you. You know your body better than any doctor does, and if you pay attention to it, you will know if there is something not right.

LivingSky--I just wanted to say thanks to you and Deborah for your support. This has all made me feel quite a bit better. I don't want to minimize high blood pressure if I really do have it, but I don't want them putting me on meds or something if it's not necessary. I have been tracking my bp (though I forgot the last couple of days) and I do plan to bring the #'s in to my appointment. I know 130/80 (which I'm getting consistently at home) is still not great, but by definition it's not hypertension. The m/w has started writing "chronic hypertension" on my chart and such, grrrrrr. I know it's true based on the last couple of readings she took, but it just kind of adds to my stress.

vivica--congrats on your baby girl!! Yaaaaay!

Scowgirl- I'm glad we could help. I think it might be a good idea to mention that the way your midwife is approaching the blood pressure is counterproductive to keeping blood pressure stable. In other words, let her know that you feel she is stressing you out and there may have been a better way to discuss it with you.

Hi Everyone! I'm cautiously joining you. Got my BFP yesterday and we're over the moon! Couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present!

I am Erika, I have two daughters from my previous marriage (10 and 6 years old). This will be my 3rd and my DH's first.

I am extremely fortunate and grateful to be pregnant right now. I was on Depo Provera for 4 years and have read some horror stories of post-Depo infertility. We started trying in September of this year after the shot "wore off". Technically, we tried for 3 months. I have an LP on the short side (approx 10 days). My first cycle post-Depo it was 9 days. I took B6 for two cycles and here I am. According to my O date, my due date will be September 1, 2012!

Congrats Maman!  joy.gif

We had our 20 week u/s today!  We're having a GIRL!!!

Hi, MamanF, and congratulations!!! It is great to see you here! energy.gif

Come to think of it, that smiley is appropriate for BubbleMa too! Congratulations on your baby girl!! I love that you and vivica2 both found out you were having girls in such quick succession.

Welcome Maman!

Congrats BubbleMa on the girl! We are having a girl too! Seems like there are a lot of girls on this thread right now.

scowgirl: So sorry about the high blood pressure. I had issues starting at 13wks with my last one. Don't know what you've tried yet but my docs have recommended taking a baby aspirin, at least 1000mg of calcium daily and a high protein diet. I've been doing this since I found out with this pregnancy and have had no problems so far (I'm 23wks). Also, push for the large cuff. It really does make a difference.

Thanks, belacmsage, for that information! I will ask my providers about the baby aspirin, calcium, dietary stuff when I go in for my next appointment.

I tell y'all, I think I will feel better after my Friday appointment... even if it is bad news. Since this is my first pregnancy, it is getting to seem more and more improbable that I am even pregnant. I really wish I had tried to get the m/w to do an ultrasound last time when she couldn't hear the heartbeat. I'd hate to get to 11w+ and find out I haven't even been pregnant for the last 2-4 (I'm on progesterone, so I'm worried about missed miscarriage). I really just want to KNOW something... if the pregnancy is not viable or the screening comes out with a questionable result, of course I can't imagine how I would feel or how hard it would be, but maybe I could come to grips with the situation and figure out what to do next. The week is going by so slowly, and I'm trying to prepare for the worst because no way do I want to waltz in there blithely assuming everything is fine and then get blindsided with bad news. greensad.gif

Vivica- Obviously I am thinking of DECAF coffee. Vivica, Bubblema- Congrats on the baby girls! MamanF- Congrats on the BFP!  Scowgirl- Did I miss something? I'm not sure why you think it will be bad news. Other than the paranoia we all get. How many weeks along were you when you saw your midwife? Sometimes, it's just very early to hear a heartbeat. I know we weren't able to hear it until almost 8 weeks. We could see it on ultrasound at just over 7 weeks, but we couldn't hear it yet.

I was 9w3d. It could have been my belly fat, and they say oftentimes you have to wait longer than that, but it seems like many people around here hear it by then. I wish the midwife had just done an ultrasound at that time.

I really have no reason to think anything bad, except crazy irrational concepts such as "I'm being punished for asking my doctor for progesterone" and "all my friends have healthy pregnancies so I'll be the statistical outlier." In all honesty I probably should have gone with an OB for my first pregnancy so I could have had a little more intervention/hand-holding.

Sorry for the vent...

We heard ours, but it was on an ultrasound. I'm not sure that it would have been heard otherwise. You know you can always switch to an OB now, if you think you'd be more comfortable.

Maman- Congrats again! What do you want on the main page? LOL You wrote a novel... I didn't know what you wanted me to put.

Deborah- Is the correction okay? I didn't really know how to word what you wanted. BLAH. Also, LOVE your siggy... "I'm Deborah, not Deb." Cracked me up.

I'm asking now since the holidays are about to be upon us and I have a feeling people won't be on here as much. Who wants to be January threadkeeper? I go back to work the 26th and school starts back up the 3rd so I KNOW I won't have time for this like I do now.

AFM: Started my BC a few days ago. It's BFing-friendly, estrogen-free. =) BC is notorious for giving me migraines because of the estrogen so I hope this helps.

Here's Conner!

7weeks, 1 day.

11lbs even. (He was 7lbs5oz when he came home from the hospital. He's gained almost 4lbs in 7 weeks!!!)

22 3/4''. (He was 20'' at birth.)

TTC- I got sick of correcting people. I try not to shorten people's names without checking because it drives me up a wall! I also had a traumatizing experience that made Deb a no-no except family who has called me that since I was a baby and a select few. I have to look at the page to see what you wrote in my blurb.

That works! Another option would be just to say, after IVF we found out we were expecting identical twins! Something like that. I am just a geek and had to clarify that.

Whoops. Have to edit my siggy. I'm 9 weeks today and the babies are officially fetuses!

This time tomorrow I'll be headed over to my first trimester screening. (It's at 1:30.) I wish the time would magically go faster! I am so ready to know something.

I hope everyone else is doing well. Good growin', Conner! biggrinbounce.gif

Also, I would like to report that today is the first time I could actually see janellody's baby in that picture, even though I can see him clear as day now that I am looking at it right. I have got to be the worst interpreter of ultrasound images on earth. ROTFLMAO.gif
