You hid it because you want her to seek comfort from you? Why can she not get comfort in the way SHE wants and needs?

I was going to have the same response as fairedujour, but it sounds like you are being sensitive to your daughter's response.  If she seemed distressed, would you return it?  Do you plan to save it for her?  If she asked about it in the future, what would you tell her? 

 

It does sound like she has had some unusual responses, though, and I'd be surprised to hear that her attachment to the blanket and aversion to touch is only about the blanket.  But, then again, maybe it is a common thing.  Do you know any professionals who could perhaps clear that up?
